There is nothing known to science that engages more of the human mind then the experience of music. It can inspire us, delight us, bring us to states of ecstasy and even help us express ourselves. It is a magic that is woven throughout the story of mankind and it’s power is undeniable. FORMERLY KNOWN AS DJ Blackpearl, NO_EL is an emerging master at harnessing that magic.

As a classically trained musician and thespian No_EL understands her craft in a way that few can match. By the age of 14 she was professionally performing as a vocalist, guitarist, and pianist. By 17 she was teaching music by day and starring in various musicals by night. At 19 she discovered electronic music and she knew immediately she was hooked. Everything else went on hold and she threw herself 110% into EDM. 

Unlike most of her generation No_EL didn’t start with a macbook and a dream of playing EDC. Instead she did what came natural to a classical musician; she locked herself away from the world with nothing but a few thousand slabs of vinyl and some tech 12’s and began to study. For the next two years she steeped herself in the roots of modern dance music studying old school giants of the industry like Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, and Richie Hawtin while she honed her craft and began to develop her own unique style. She emphasized meticulous programing of her sets and attention to production quality mixing. 

Not surprisingly when NO_EL decided it was time to go public she hit the ground at a full sprint and immediately began electrifying unsuspecting crowds. Over the last several years she’s been blowing it up all over the west coast playing events of all sizes from peak hour main floors to intimate lounges and everything in between. Eventually landing where she currently calls home, as a resident performer at The infamous after hours spot in Las Vegas NV, The ARTISAN HOTEL. In addition to her live appearances NO_EL has also developed a significant online fan base and regularly plays on digital radio in the US as well as being broadcast in Europe.

While her nearly scientific approach to DJ’ing might leave the impression No_EL is all work and no play, nothing could be further from the truth. She understands that in addition to being about music her craft is also performance art, a business, and should always be, heaven forbid, FUN! She’s doesn’t take herself too seriously and is not afraid to pump up a crowd and loves to grab attention with her over the top fashion. In her own words “I wanted to take my work seriously and really get into the wiring of the music we all love so I can do my part to help progress the format, but if I wanted to be an academic I would have stuck to classical music. Let’s be honest this is about getting people fired up, helping them lose themselves in the moment for a few hours, making them want to smile and feel good! If I can sneak some musical theory into my sets then great but if I’m not making people shake their ass then I’m not doing my job.”

This is a story that’s still being written but NO_EL has all the right stuff and is likely to be a force in the dance music industry for many years to come
