For the eight edition of their label catalogue, [selected] puts the focus on their residents again. The Berlin based duo Lyric are in charge of this one, putting hypnotizing loops and tantalizing rhythms as their main focus.
As it should be, the EP starts out with its „Introduction”. It is plain and simple – no playing around, straight to the point techno without unwanted attitude or makeup. Sounds creeping in and out, searching for their roots and restlessly evolving by any means necessary.
Only the universe is „Eternal”. The mesmerizing scapes and slashes that build the composition construct a feeling of endless enchantment, while leaving no room for doubts that this is – indeed – eternal.
„Neologism” digs deeper and explores the greater realms of the genre. Soft keys dangle over ones head like an asymmetric pendulum – drooling you in, putting you in a transcendent state where everything is nothing and no limits seem to exist.
While still in trance, „Hemisphere” puts a spin on the record’s atmosphere. The mind boggling loop character is still very present, the odd chord progression puts an unexpected twist on it. Almost nightmare-ish, the elements gather and layer around you like a snake that has just shed its skin.
For the finale A.Morgan puts his spin on „Hemisphere”. The chords get more stabby, a range of belly, clinching percussion are eager to express themselves, tumbling through spheres of light and darkness.

To round out the album, each original track by DJ Prim has been remixed by hand-selected artists from around the world. The remixes keep the focus on techno and the diverse selection of producers create a soundscape which encompasses everything from lush, dreamy environments; to fast-paced, raw, groovy hip-shakers; to high-voltage, mind-bending madness. 

Hailing from Miami, DJ Prim's main influence is grounded in the roots of Techno. His productions are driven by the fundamentals of the genre and fortified by grooves that underpin the shapeshifting synths, percussions, and relentless drum patterns, all the way into the soul of the dance floor and the bodies on it.
