Uneven, a producer and DJ based in Bristol, has been deeply involved in the autonomic sound scene—originally pioneered by dBridge and Instra:mental—for years now. He co-runs the Squares Music label with fellow producer Jaskin and is the creative force behind the Epified night in Bristol, which focuses on deeper jungle drum and bass music.

His debut on Defrostatica features three forward-thinking jungle tracks that build on his reputation and bring a cutting-edge vibe that works great in clubs. 'Drone Control' (featuring The Corpus) is a cold, cinematic stepper with his signature widescreen sound and sharp vocal chops that weave through the entire EP. Uneven really pushes the limits of the autonomic style with 'Density', which has a rumbling bassline and a second drop that hits hard. 'Tell Me' is a halftime drum and bass track with minimalistic beats and chopped-up breaks, perfect for mixing.

Kokeshi label owner Alley Cat went all out with her gritty take on the overall sound of the 'Density' EP, delivering a standout remix of the title track that feels like a dystopian march.

Here's another mix from my archives! This one is a live set from the Dj Bailey gig back on July 1 2000. My set was the lead in to Dj Bailey. This was presented by Inbound alongside Maximum Creation (IMC) and the event was called HEADZ. The venue was the back room at St Pauls in Adelaide (La Lupa Bar) and was a sick night!

This is actually one of my fav sets I've ever played. It's not perfect and has a bit of wild rough scratching as you did back in the day, but for me It will always be one I'll never forget! Check the track list below.

Salmon are one of the world’s best-known fishes. Admittedly for most of us they’re probably best recognisable as sashimi, but salmon are unique creatures that lead epic lives in the wild. Salmon reproduce in freshwater but travel to the ocean for their adult lives. Using extraordinary navigation instincts, salmon will swim back up river to the same streams they were born in to reproduce in turn. They’re the athletes of the fish world and can swim 50 kilometres a day and jump though fast-flowing rapids in their journey upstream. Climate change is warming up rivers, reducing salmon’s ability to breed and thrive. As a ‘keystone’ species they are vital for the survival of other creatures in their ecosystems. We’ll donate all release proceeds to Ocean Conservancy to support conservation efforts.

The next release in our H3O series comes from Echomatics, a talented producer hailing from Canada. Known for his highly musical and lush soundscapes, Echomatics has established a reputation within the scene, with releases on labels such as Fokuz, Celsius, and 170+ Recordings, among others. We’re excited to present his "Daydream EP" on T3K Recordings, which features smooth, heartfelt Liquid Drum & Bass—a perfect addition to our aquatic H3O series.
