For the third record on Club Glow we have our very own breaksmith LMajor, stepping up with a hard hitting 4 tracker, brimming with B-lines and expertly crafted breaks.

The title track ‘Tear My Heart’ has been doing the rounds for a while now, anyone who’s been to a Club Glow show in the last 18 months will undoubtably recognise that hook and those vocals. Certified ear-worm material!

The flip-side features a collaboration with the ever talented Decibella. One of our core crew members, she has shut down the dance at most of our events this last year. ‘Waiting’ has been a staple of all of our sets and we are glad to finally be able to release it to the world!

After dropping the hammer with Blunt Instruments killer Hold Back Ep,  Dungeon Meat are back again debuting on their own label with the brain mincing Lose Your Mind Ep . 

Both sides deliver big swings of their mighty axe and hit hard with their signature sound of meaty beats & beefy basslines . Aimed straight at the dance floor it's obvious both these tracks have the intention to crack some skulls and spill some brains . Already vigorously road tested by Tristan da Cunha and Brawther at their D.J gigs & their D.M live show  , the reactions have shown that both of these tracks hit the chest and do the damage. As usual though we won't bother describing them , breaking tracks down to each part and trying to use words where they usually fail …. instead we'll let the music do the talking. 

 Also included are two  "tools"  so the creative DJ's out there can get busy in the mix and give their sets a little meat injection. Again you vinyl lovers are treated to deluxe 180gram slab of the black stuff & embossed company sleeve dressed to impress with the trademark Dungeon Meat artwork .  VINYL ONLY

This was an exclusive 500 copies ltd edition C.D mix we did in conjunction with Block 9 to celebrate the NYC Downlow , Gay Pride and Glastonbury Festival . The 1 hr mix is a tribute to the legendary Sound Factory in NYC that has inspired so many clubs and labels such as Back To Basics (U.K) , Junior Boys Own , Tribal , Prescription and of course the one and only NYC Downlow . A hour of mixed sounds from the editor covering the Düsseldorf scene, Golden Teacher, Acting Press, Acido and more. 

This has been a long time coming. In the nine months between previous editions of our Staff Mix series, there have been countless afternoons spent stood over my turntables and mixer, attempting to weave some sort of aural narrative from a pile of records I felt might work well together for another contribution from myself. Clearly something was missing; maybe its symptomatic of the lack of time I spend acquainting myself with the B-sides and D-sides of records purchased and how they might work among each other in the confines of a recorded mix.

My thanks to Nic Tuohey for stepping in and filling the Staff Mix void and reintroducing a sense of momentum for the series that gave me the proverbial kick up the ass. What to say about this 59 minutes of music then? It’s the distillation of all those afternoons of mixing, sometimes with the record button, other times just loosely toying around whilst no one (but my neighbours) can hear.

If there is any influence, it’s from doing a monthly Thursday night with friends in a local Hackney bar conducive to letting us play the weirder ends of our respective collections. It’s here that I’ve had the chance to play some of the tracks that feature here – both the Max D and Plus Instruments cuts had previously been glossed over entirely for other music on the respective 12”s until I played them at this night.

Juno Plus Staff Mix Vol. 12: Tony Poland

Distant Hawaii kicks into gear for the second half of 2016 with our first Transatlantic artist joining in the shape of immense production and DJ talent, Garrett David. 

Already a prominent figure in the Windy City scene via his residency at Smart Bar and working as A&R and in-house buyer at Gramaphone Records; Garrett's talents extend even further, right back to the lab, to the deep studio from whence all music grows. 

His Chicago-tinged-with-Detroit blend of clean, yet warm and occasionally raw bumpin' house tracks showcase a kaleidoscope of grooves backed by heavy-seated drum programming and glacial, almost-interspatial padwork. 

'Octagon Blues' is built on a bedrock of steadily ascending Juno throbs, that climb higher and higher over skittering, pebble-dashed percussion and bristle with high end synth-whistling by the close. 

'Power Up' shifts up the tempo and velocity with a proper kickin' fast groove and undulating Omar S-esque bass-line sequences aimed squarely at the heart of the Sunday night dance. 

Flipping over the 12", 'Remedy' comes glowing into life through soft pad caressing and a steady 5am melancholia bass-line. Touches of a light rain smack the windshield, preceding a wonky and portamento'd melodic surprise. The shyer, mysterious cousin of 'Power Up'. 

The closer, but this easily could have been the opener, 'Healing Channel' is exactly that. An instant transportation to a sole experience in the flotation tank. An isolated yet comforting zone of inner peace, only broken by a steady live drum groove, peppered with delay from the inner walls of the listeners water-based sanctuary.
