As Proportion continues to grow apace, an all-star cast assembles for the label’s third release with iconic figures from South America and Europe combining on “Small Wonder”.

Joining label head-honcho, Dmitry Molosh, on the original track, Navar is an artist with a rich musical heritage. With music signed to such esteemed imprints as Roger Martinez’s Higher States, Guy J’s Lost & Found and GMJ & Matter’s Meanwhile, the Dutch producer has always stayed away from a standard musical formula. Such an approach has enabled him to produce a vintage selection of innovative and praiseworthy music. “Small Wonder” is thus a driving rhythmic gem that glitters with percussive verve and sultry bassline groove. Evolving elegantly, filtered motifs combine as a smooth arpeggio makes a fleeting first appearance. A cascading breakdown of melodic layers appears at the breakdown before the third movement erupts in a synergy of rhythmic and melodic force where arpeggios and bass combine with heavy kick in a dancefloor masterpiece.

Hernan Cattaneo requires no introduction to the underground dance fraternity. A household name and legendary figure across South America and the global stage, the Argentinean showcases his immaculately blended DJ sets to thousands of club-goers on a weekly basis as he demonstrates an unrivalled commitment and passion to his craft. As owner of the internationally recognised Sudbeat Music, El Maestro has always found a vehicle for his production work, whether on his own label or a host of others. A regular collaborator with like-minded musicians, a score of credits can be found with fellow countryman, Marcelo Vasami, who is also a powerful force with regular DJ sets across Argentina and support for his multi-faceted productions on Hope, Afterglow and Replug, from the global DJ elite. Formerly combining on the likes of Timeless Moment, Vapour Recordings and ICONYC, the Hernan Cattaneo & Marcelo Vasami remix is a rolling rhythmic jewel that sparkles with head-shaking percussion and deep kick. Imaginatively using elements from “Small Wonder”, the arpeggio so central to the original waxes and wanes alongside a plethora of additional production material. Swathes of white-noise washes and textured pads add to the haunting atmosphere in a track that blossoms post-breakdown with dancefloor bliss.

The final remix sees a third Argentinean enter the remix arena as Mike Griego makes a welcome first appearance on Proportion. An artist with over a century of production credits to his name across a 13-year career, a 2009 debut for Atlantdigital saw Griego go on to release regularly on such blue-chip imprints as Sudbeat, Plattenbank, microCastle and Cid Inc.’s Replug. A pair of remixes of Kasper Koman’s number one selling “In Circles” for Juicebox Music witnessed Griego’s first outing in 2022 as he now continues that success with a compelling interpretation of “Small Wonder”. A chest-thumping beat and ticking percussive groove combine with seismic bass groove in a dark and brooding affair before lighter synth motifs from Molosh & Navar’s original flow atop in stark juxtaposition. Creamy pads and choral swells add another musical conduit post-breakdown as the innovative bassline cadence creates a new sonic tension in an impressive new reworking.

With such an impressive array of talent on display, it is “Little Wonder” that the Dmitry Molosh & Navar partnership is destined for success.

A brand new name on Manual Music as Sean and Amber aka Kakura enter the long running Dutch imprint with a double A-sider that features the tracks 'Witcher' and 'Vermillion'.

The release kicks off with 'Witcher', a melodic tension builder crafted on a strong layer of afro beats and percussion. Super fierce and ever mysterious, this one properly sets the tone for what's to follow next.

'Vemillion' takes things up a notch as the tempo is increased and so are the energy levels. Resulting in a proper peak time effective dancefloor burner. All systems go!

And now for something special, as we are proud to present the remix winner- and runner up for the 'Witcher' remix contest we did together with FMM (finishmoremusic). Wisso did an amazing job, taking the afro elements of the original to the next level and belding a gritty, relentless arpeggiator to the mix, whilst Arqade took a totally different approach with his broken beats electronica version. Both very worthy of their appearance on this release without a doubt!

And if that's not enough, Kamilo Sanclemente makes his long awaited return to the label and has brought his mate Jossem along for the ride as the pair remix 'Vermillion', shaping it up for the progressive house audience to love.

SLC-6 Music opens the new year with a new single from D.J. MacIntyre and Dr Green. Hailing from California, D.J. MacIntyre has been a beloved figure within the American electronic music scene for the better part of a decade. Oftentimes finding the creative space between progressive house and melodic techno, D.J. MacIntyre has taken his cross-genre sound to some of the undergrounds trendiest imprints, most notably Nick Warrens The Soundgarden, Clubsonica, Freegrant Music and RKP. Also well travelled as a DJ, the Santa Barbara resident has appeared at some of the worlds most prestigious events, most notably Burning Man and ADE, while also showcasing his borderless programming skills in Moscow, Malta, Sri Lanka, and all across the United States. Meanwhile, hailing from Sri Lanka, Daniel Claessen aka Dr Green has been one of SLC-6s core artists since making his debut in 2022 with a contribution to the SIX: Stage-11 collection. The next three calendar years would see Daniel deliver eight originals and three remixes for the American imprint, while also finding a home on Balkan Connection, Droid9 and La Foresta, amongst others. Now, as 2025 begins to take shape, D.J. MacIntyre and Dr Green combine their extensive forces for the first time on Martian Boogie, alongside remixes from Rockka, Juani Ramirez and GSix. The original mix shows just how good the creative synergy is between D.J. MacIntyre and Dr Green, as the duo crafts a memorable progressive journey that proves to be both musical and club-effective. A backbone of beefy beats and chugging grooves sets the pace for organic percussion, haunting motifs and a bevy of deconstructed sonics to conjure up transcendent imagery for the dancefloor. Touted Sri Lankan talent Rockka makes his SLC-6 return and provides the first remix following projects for Long Way Records and Mango Alley. Maintaining the spirit of the original, Rockka injects his own progressive spirit into the journey, one which focuses on a strong effects narrative and a searing acid build to lift the mood of any set. Also making his return to the label is Juani Ramirez who provides the second interpretation of Martian Boogie. With Juanis SLC-6 debut landing in November of last year as part the SIX: Stage-23 collection, the Argentine now provides his first remix for the label, delivering a straight forward no frills progressive workout, complete with buoyant grooves, emerging synth lines and a thunderous drop. Rounding out the release with the third and final interpretation of Martian Boogie is GSix who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Los Angeles resident has been noted for his borderless approach to production, oftentimes described as challenging and exploratory. Here GSix finds a cohesive balance between progressive house and techno, utilizing the main themes from the original with a relentless dancefloor approach.
