Before anyone reacts, this wasn't meant to be an A-B test, both mic setups are on the extreme ends of quality, price and even size. I think LOM's mics are absolutely brilliant, and unbeatable at their price point. Hardware quality is stunning and I have no doubt they will last even under extreme use conditions. Their primary application in my kit was "stealth mode", I like recording busy places, or locations where a blimp would raise suspicions, such as my incident in Iran, when recording a call to prayer near a mosque resulted in several machine guns being pointed at me. But to cut the story short, they turned out to complement my main Schoeps mics very well when used in quad configuration. The lack of detail and flatter dynamics when compared to Schoeps, make them perfect for filling in the surrounds. Listen to the third train-by towards the end, I think the differences between both setups are most prominent there, just food for thought.
