Let's set the scene. An explorer on a mission. A new frontier and a journey riddled with perils. Adventure. Danger. Power. Discovery. Peace. Arude's EP "Echoes of the past" really embodies that feeling of exploration, of wanting to master new worlds. The EP takes you on a trip in your own mind in three different stages.

The hit track, with the same title as the EP, is the first stage of the journey. It's on a mission to discover new territories and it will not go down without a fight. Especially the percussion in the title track signals a forceful drive - underlined by a deep, murmuring voice in the background. There's only one way on this journey, the voice seems to say, and that is forward. The explorer's nature is to go where no one has been. "Echoes of the Past" will take you on the journey there.

"Perigree" on the other hand is for when the explorer has embarked on the shores of the new world and claimed it. It's an interesting mix of joy and passion for finding something new and shiny, while at the same time signalling that any new discovery is bound to come with a certain set of conditions. You can't choose what you find.

On "Agalma", Arude turns to the homecoming journey. There's definitely enlightenment to the track, but also a big portion of nostalgia and longing for the known. On the title track "Echoes of the past", the bass-like voice in the background is the unclear goal the explorer had. Going somewhere, not knowing where. "Agalma" has a break towards the end with a passionate and high-pitched synth melody. It's a beautiful embodiment of finally having found the unknown, becoming wiser and accepting your findings because they belong to you.

Whereas "Echoes of the Past" is about an almost childlike exploration and struggling to find your way, "Perigree" is about self-discovery and soul-searching. "Agalma" is about acknowledging your findings and being true to yourself. If you're interested in making a trip to the innermost corners of your mind and finding out what world you belong in, Arude's EP "Echoes of the mind" is for you

'Anis Hachemi & Alex Kaspersky link up for the epic new album Baths Of Antoninus on Dear Deer. Anis is a label regular, and Alex is the label head honcho, and they both come together here with a big techno sound that comes laced with melody.

Future Retro opens up with gritty bass and widescreen synths that wash over the groove and then Africa brings more afro tinged drums, Better Life is dark and edgy with a spraying synth line and Dogon Tribe then gets you in a trance with the lush chords. Rave in Sahara is hard-hitting and moody, with grainy chords and gritty textures, then tracks like African Rage and Future Acid show the range of this pair as they serve up more peak-time cuts with searing acid lines and bouncing drums. After the tense and adventurous Carthage with its gauzy chords, Decadence closes out with hands in the air.

This is a coherent and complete album that really takes you on a deep and cosmic techno voyage.'

The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Hannes Wiehager and Chaum back to the label for their debut EP. Having first appeared in 2018, Swedish artist Hannes Wiehager has amassed an impressive resume, finding a home on Beatfreak Limited, Manual Music and Stripped Recordings. Greek producer Angelos Moutsai aka Chaum has enjoyed a similar rise to success since making his debut in 2016. Releases via Hoomidaas, One Of A Kind and RYNTH have been vehicles for his darker take on melodic house and techno. As frequent studio partners in the past, Hannes and Chaum first appeared on Movement in July of last year with a contribution to the label's popular 'Technical Progress' series. Now as 2021 gets underway the duo make a welcome return with 'Fallout' alongside remixes from Khainz and Futur-E.

NoiseFloor Records is an electronic music label based in Montreal run by DJ/Producer Andrés Velilla since September 2017.  

However, the story of NoiseFloor started back in the late 90’s, when promoter Marshall Destro decided to do quality underground electronic parties in the city of Montreal under the name NoiseFloor. Then in 2009, DJ/Producer Andrés Velilla, a resident DJ at the renowned club Le Salon Daome, met Marshall and his team and joined forces with them to start a monthly night under the name NoiseFloor at Le Salon Daome.  

Throughout those years Andrés Velilla and the NoiseFloor team dedicated themselves to bring the top quality underground electronic music of different genres from Deep House to Techno, inviting such names as NiCe7, Kevin Yost, Pawas, Phillip Ort, Estroe, Saytek Live and Djuma Soundsystem just to name a few.  

After several years of working together, the NoiseFloor promotion team decides to part ways, and this is when Andrés Velilla makes the decision to continue what was started back in 2009 at Le Salon Daome, but this time is to continue spreading the music he loves to the world by building his record label NoiseFloor Records.  

NoiseFloor Records will emulate what Andrés Velilla’s music style is all about, a mix of genres from Deep House, Tech House, Deep-Techno, and Melodic-Techno.  With NoiseFloor Records, Andrés Velilla wishes to share with the world new artists from Montreal and elsewhere, while also showcasing some more established artists.
