Working on a few additions to my Reaktor Live Patch. Thought it might be fun to record as I was testing this one thing in particular.

I was looking for a way to improvise fills and variations as I was playing. Wanted to build something around a midi keyboard so that I could play the fills directly. 

The resulting patch is built around the lookup module and a momentary cross fading macro. The idea being that when a key is depressed the output is switched from the main track to a large bank of sounds. Which sound is played is dependent upon which midi note is pressed.

The recording is a little raw and messy, but to be honest I was bashing away with little thought and a massive grin on my face! Road tested this patch in Edinburgh over the weekend and had a great time doing so, cant wait to use it more!

Track kinda works in 2 parts, Pretty heavy at the start, good to get people excited. 2nd half dies down a bit, leaves space for melody and some more expressive drum programming. Again, a load of Reaktor edits going on here, and using a cool plugin from waves to get stacked comb filter effects.

Quick recording of a new Reaktor patch I've been working on. Some kind of noise making thing. Engine is built around 2 granular channels, 2 indepenant signal paths consisting of Modifiers, Multimode filters etc, 8 powerful Multimode modulation sources, Master effects, and Master dynamic processors. It has a huge amount of modulation routing, as demonstrated in this test recording. Only holding down one key. However, it is also capable of producing far more "musical" sounds, and the nature of the granular channels means it can function as a wavetable synthesiser as well.

I plan on sharing this one at some point, need to make some user guide for it first, which will take a while. Undecided if I will make this a free download, or a paid for one, perhaps donations... Anyway, keep your eyes pealed.

In a bit to become the worlds first Artificially-intelligent juke boy-band, my robot collection have been really busy in the studio, and just finished their new single entitled:

A little experiment with semi random pattern generation, in the form of a kinda drum circle.

Effectively 16 different voices, comprised from simple 1 Osc + Noise + Modulation synth  engines. Patterns are generated with a burst of midi data, quantised and modulated by each other. Constantly evolving and changing. Voice parameters are also randomly generated, and morph slowly from one to another.

No real point to it, just a bit of messing about. I'd like to try this with surround, that could be kinda fun. Bonus fun is sending midi out to the light up pads on my midi controller, like a 70s dance floor for mice.

Spent the last couple days getting started on a groovebox/drum machine thing.

Early stages so far, but I was liking how it was sounded so I recorded a bit, straight out of Reaktor. All I'm doing it unmuting channels, everything else is the instrument noodling away.

Not the usual timbre, but it's sample driven and so it could be way more noisy and glitchy, but today I have the flu and could do with some less abrasive sounds.
