I met Jascha through Pete, who knew that I dabbled in recording and asked me to help Jascha put together a demo. Jascha was wide-eyed and ready to rely on my dubious expertise, while I was nervous about being exposed for the hack I really was. He was so quiet and gentle until it came to laying a track down--then he was a force. And he was willing to let it be raw, to not stress the irregularities of his performances--get it down raw and real, with a sweet smile. For all that forceful passion on stage he was as gentle, sweet, and nurturing as could be off-stage. I'm pretty sure he was working at a day care. And in those demo sessions at my house he plunked away at a toy piano a sweet bromance plea to Pete not to move away.
