I was capturing some examples of 'cone cry' and captured a pair of output tubes dying on my Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555.  

From roughly 3:24 to 4:08 the tubes die, after that point I switched to my SLO-100 and piddled a bit, trying to figure out what sounds good for a proper amp demo instead of pointless noodling.  Which I eventually got around to, the noodling I mean.

From 0:00 to 1:12 the settings on the Jubilee were:
Presence: 6 - Bass: 4 - Mids: 7 - Treble: 4.5 - Output Master: 6 - Lead Master: 8 - Input Gain: 8

From 1:12 to 2:19 I rolled all of the tone controls down to 0, leaving only the Output Master, Lead Master and Input Master at their previous settings to further isolate the cone cry effect.

From 0:00 to 2:19 I'm playing through a Peavey 5150 4x12 cabinet with 16ohm Sheffield speakers wired for 16ohms.  From 2:19 until the end of the clip I switched to an Orange PPC212, a 2x12 sealed cabinet with a pair of Celestion Vintage30's wired for 16ohms.

At 3:22 you can hear the tubes start to die.
At 4:07 I smelled smoke.

From 4:10 until the end of the clip I'm playing a Soldano SLO-100 into an Orange PPC212.  Settings on the SLO were:  (Preamp)Normal:  7 - (Preamp)Overdrive: 6 - Bass: 4 - Middle: 7 - Treble: 6 - (Output)Normal: 6 - (Output)Overdrive: 4.5 - Presence: 4

I used a Les Paul Standard with Seymour Duncan Alnico II pickups, switching between the bridge and neck positions.  Volume and tone knobs are on 10.  

Mics used were a Sennheiser e609 off the center of the dust cover and a Shure SM57 pointed diagonally at the near edge of the cone.  Both mics were centered in their respective channels.
Boths mics run through a MOTU 828MkII into a Macbook Pro running ProTools 11.  No effects or EQ were added at any point.
