noiZecast #1: Daniel Nardicio

If you've ever found yourself deep in the East Village of Manhattan at four in the morning with no clothes on, you've probably heard of Daniel Nardicio, the reigning nightlife and cabaret king of New York. Or perhaps you've seen the pictures of a buff, naked Levi Johnston that he commandeered for a suddenly revived Playgirl. If you were lucky enough this summer, you saw him bring together two capital-C Cabaret legends, Liza and Alan Cumming, for a show that Fire Island will never forget. 

It seems that whatever entertainment challenge Nardicio takes on, he conquers. Then he moves on to something else surprising and deliciously naughty. His long, storied career has seen many highs and even more lows, as he bounces from the worlds of sleaze and pizzazz with a seeming ease that belies the impossibly hard work and organizational acumen that he brings to every project that he champions. 

Currently busy transforming Fire Island's Cherry Grove from a quaint relic of eras past to a vibrant alternative to the chic Pines next door, Daniel doesn't seem to know how to sit still for very long. noiZe caught up with Nardicio after his Cabaret bonanza written up by the NYTimes. Editors Jeffery Taylor and Michael Taylor had an in-depth conversation with him for our first podcast ever, covering the many facets of a life joyfully lived. From his many success stories to his theory of "ethical promiscuity," we leave no stone unturned with this fascinating and surprisingly charming nightlife legend.
