Bassment Sessions Volume 9 Mixed By Noizee B

This is a mix I dedicate to The Edge nightclub which was situated in Lower Ford Street, Coventry. I recorded this the day after Dreamscape @ The Emporium in May and I've listened through it afew times and I'm happy with this as I feel it's a mix that balances the happier & darker side of the music that was released in 1993, when Jungle was breaking through from hardcore, showing some of it's foundation and roots.
The Edge for those that do or don't know, opened on 18th September 1992 and was formerly known as The Eclipse, one of the best clubs in the country and still stands out in the history of rave from 1990-1992 and is still talked about to this day, the biggest thing Coventry had seen since the 2 Tone era. Some people say The Edge shouldn't have happened, some say it was one of the best things to have ever happened. Nevertheless it can't be disagreed that this is a club that definetly held some of the most historic raves in it's opening time from September 1992 until it shut it's doors on 26th February 1994.
This club, being The Eclipse, The Edge, or in it's later years being The Planet and then The Institute, has been a massive influence in my djing career. There are so many historic tapes from this building all together, and many of my favourite tapes are from The Edge. Whether they were The Edge's own events, Amnesia House, Dance Trance, Bangin Tunes, Fibreoptic, Club Dreamscape, Starlight, Pisces etc, the list is endless. 

I just wish I was old enough to have experienced raving back then, but I'm just so glad I know and own so much of this amazing music from back then. So here is my dedication of music from 1993, from some of my favourite Edge tapes of all time.

The Edge Experience Dedication

I've been a resident for Pure Garage Vibez at Seven in Coventry since it launched in May. In 2010  I recorded an Old Skool Garage mix which is still on soundcloud available to listen and download now, and earlier this year my friend Sam, also the promoter of the 'Pure Garage Vibez' event loved that mix so much he immediately made me resident when it launched. I'd never supported any Garage headliners before and this year my bookings for this genre has exploded which has been amazing as I bought many of these classics years ago and still do buy them today. Thanks to these events taking off in Coventry it's had such fantastic headliners as EZ, Artful Dodger & Pied Piper to name afew.

Cee Ohh Ell & Noizee B - Welcome To Our House

I wrote this on the train coming back from Glasgow to Coventry today, hence the title "The Jungle Train". Touched it up a little bit as I arrived home too. I was listening to a jungle tape for 5 minutes and just needed to get my head sunk in making a tune, but I didn't think I'd get something done this quickly! So here's some Jungle at 160bpm.

This hasn't been professionally mastered or even listened too on a pair of monitor speakers yet either, all been done on my headphones. So please don't expect anything amazing as this is the 2nd tune I've almost finished this year on my own for upload. 
Gonna keep working on this though until it's finished.

Been mixing for 15 years (since 1999)and I've been playing out in clubs for over 11 years since I was 15. Very lucky to have supported many great artists in Dance music. 

Drum & Bass is my first love, but I'm just as well known for my Old Skool & Garage sets, and do play House. Previous styles have also included Hard Dance & Hardcore in the early stages of my career. 

Now co-promote 'Bassment Sessions' in Coventry with my friend Bassick, and am also resident at 'Anything Goes' at Careys Nightclub in Coventry.
