Gregori Klosman’s Guru Recordings is the label that keeps on giving. Offering up the next in its series of free downloads, Guru straps into some filthy, old school house and garage flavours courtesy of a brand new edit of Gregori Hawk & Chelero’s “Mystique.” The track is given a distinctive treatment by fast rising Frenchman, Antoine Delvig, who himself collaborated with Gregori Hawk for the massive “Gold, Diamonds & Money” on Guru back in May. A man clearly in red-hot form, Delvig has got the thrusters on and is driving us all into oblivion.
Right from the off the track is driven by thick swathes of bass and dirty, distorted synths reminiscent of London’s underground house and garage scene of the early 2000’s. Added to that are some big, confident breaks that ramp up the old school energy even further. The fact that Delvig manages to infuse these heavier elements with subtle twists of melody is testament to a producer highly adept at blending divergent atmospheres within the same track. It is these complexities, that when added to the groovy swagger that persists throughout that makes this edit so utterly addictive.
