Seagulls and Shells

Kate and Jules came in a couple of weeks ago to do a live recording of "Wrong Club" from their 2014 album Super Critical.
Both Kate and Jules brought their own FX, and the whole thing was recorded in one take, live, and the result was this wonderfully intimate sounding recording.
Vocal mic was a Sennheiser e840 with an additional foam on it, and the guitar was recorded through my media boogie dual rec solo head and Marshall 4x12 cab, through a Rode NT1 diaphragm mic.
 

We have a pretty simple production studio here, not a live room setup, so it was a rather cosy affair!

Done in association with the MixRadio team from Bristol. We're going to be doing a few more of these over the coming months hopefully.
