There are many words to describe Isqa’s new EP, “Melancolor”: Beautiful, funky, and dissonant, just to name a few. But one word is never used: Generic. DUSTLA is always looking for original styles and cutting-edge sounds, and that is exactly what they found in Isqa. In 2013, Isqa released his debut album“Tetraform”. He quickly made a name for himself in the scene, and now he is back for more.

 The EP kicks off with the ironically named track “Control”. Why is it ironic? Because when you listen, you have NO control over your body. Filled with glitch-like effects, huge sounds, and dissonant melodies, this track will keep you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out where it will go next. “Too Real Morrison” is one of the funkiest and most beautiful tracks you will ever hear. With its piano arpeggios and tight drums, this is a perfect example of how electronic sounds and melodic styles can combine to make a whole new experience for the listener. While listening to this EP for the first time, “Control” and “Too Real Morrison” will take you by surprise, and it will be hard to imagine that the next track could be anywhere near the level of the first two. Needless to say, you will be surprised yet again. “Melancolor” is the title track of this EP, and it deserves it. As you listen, you will be taken on a journey to an unknown paradise. This track earns the title of Isqa’s EP with wonderful melodies played by some of the best synths you will ever hear. Last but definitely not least, is “Red”. This banger has beautifully pitched vocals, insane sound effects, and heavy synths, all fitting together like puzzle pieces to form an elaborate piece of art that will blow you away. The use of quiet sounds in the background really makes you feel as though “Red” surrounds you. But don’t take my word for it, Listen for yourself!

The legendary Dr. Ozi is back with their new track, "Mental Giant". The duo from Toronto has been smashing clubs, and dance floors, since 2006, so it's no surprise that their new single release on DUSTLA is a force to be reckoned with. There should be a safety warning on this track, to warn people of the potential mental damage caused by listening. The brain can only interpret so much information at a time, and "Mental Giant" will push yours to the limit, with the deranged synths, brutal drums, and robotic sound effects included in this track. To say that "Mental Giant" is merely "heavy," is unfair. To completely describe what Dr. Ozi have brought to the table with this banger, I think you would have to say something along the lines of: "Brutal, ear tearing, face ripping, masterpiece of grime and filth." "Mental Giant" will make you grin with satisfaction at every turn, so crank up your volume, and prepare yourself for the insanity that is to come.

“Sleeper EP” is the successor to Isqa’s “Melancolor EP” which released on DUSTLA back in June 2014. When it comes to quality, “Sleeper EP” doesn’t just exceed the standard of other EPs on the market, it destroys them. Isqa comes out of the gate swinging with “Push”, the first track on the EP. Filled with heavy sounds, glitch effects, and well-mixed melodies, the song will make you think twice before skipping to the next track in your Soundcloud stream. While “Push” is filling up the dance floor, “A10” will get you up out of your seat to dance at home. Isqa will amaze you with funky bass lines and rhythms, showing off more of Isqa’s many musical abilities. To be able to make people feel a spectrum of different emotions in one EP is something most producers can’t do. Speaking of different emotions, “Haunting You” is another story entirely. The creepy intro filled with atmospheric sounds and effects presents a drastic change of mood, but don’t worry…because the drop has yet to come. It will come from the shadows, leaving no trace of its path, and no mercy in its brutality. I could talk about sound design all day, but it’s Isqa’s use of silence that really makes this track a force to be reckoned with. In between brutal bass lines, Isqa uses silence and atmosphere to make your imagination run wild. Last but not least, “Sleeper” steps up to the plate. This is a perfect title track for this album, because it shows off all of Isqa’s talents in music production. Using little melodies and effects to fill the intro creates a great contrast between grace and filth, beauty and beast, the intro and the drop. Hard-hitting synths will shake your speakers and your body, be careful with the volume knob! Prepare your ears for amazement, because Isqa’s “Sleeper EP” is coming to you October 3 on DUSTLA.&#13;

Differentiating yourself within a genre can be difficult. Hell, differentiating yourself within an entire world of music can be difficult, let alone within the confines of a single genre. Still, Topi has become an individual within one of the most repetitive and derivative spaces in dance music and has done so in such an organic and powerful way that he's received nods from genre gods like Kill The Noise, Mat Zo, and Noisia along the way.

Living in a strange space between fluid and mechanism, movement and grinding friction, Topi's music fires like the engine of an El Camino SS. In the combustion chamber, basslines grind together creating the tiny explosions that move the pistons up and down, creating syncopated percussion lines. These drum pistons convert all of the lateral energy into rotational motion, allowing the entire record to propel forward with incredible power.
