hi, i don't usually release demos but it's all i really have time for nowadays. lyrically this is one of my favourite songs i've ever written. it's about being in a relationship where you're both figuring out your identities and purpose as individuals. the title "couldn't you be" asks the question of why yet simultaneously realizing that to grow, you have to let go.
