Strong representation of the new Latin American scene which takes inspirations from its Andean (Nicola Cruz), Afro-Colombian (Ghetto Kumbé) and Peruvian (Dengue Dengue Dengue) heritage. We will visit deserts of Nubia played from the perspective of New York (Alsarah & the Nubatones), the London underground thanks to the digital reissues of the classic “Grime 2” tunes (Mala, Kode 9) and the big city European dwellings inhabited by people from all over the world who meet to create OTHER-NEW (Simo Cell and Abdullah Miniawy). We will end our trip in Istanbul, "the eye of the world", as Max Cegielski wrote, a place where you can hear the unheard of (Lalalar, Grup Ses).

Rival Consoles, the moniker of British electronic musician Ryan Lee West, has carved his own niche in the world of the experimental electronic. helping to define a lot of the sound of the always excellent Erased Tapes label.  Weaving intricate soundscapes of ambient, techno, and classical elements with an ethos to "make synthesizers sound human", West is now back with the single “Coda” Another snapshot of nocturnal soundscaping, it follows up last year's album 'Now Is'. The single is accompanied by the announcement of new North American tour dates, his first in 5 years.

Welcome to The Last Thing I Saw, with your host, Nicolas Rapold. In memory of David Lynch (1946-2025), I rang up critic Mark Asch to commiserate and reflect on his work, both movies and other art. We were also originally going to talk about the world of noted Brooklyn microcinema Spectacle Theater, where Asch volunteers, so we do that as well, covering rarely shown works from Logistics to Hamburger Dad. We also address Wicked, which revisits the world of The Wizard of Oz in rather different ways from Lynch. Finally, Asch shares his experience of watching Peter Watkins’s La Commune (Paris, 1871) at Anthology Film Archives.
