Nómada Records joins forces again with Marcus Lindner a.k.a DELFONIC to present DELFONIC EDITS Pt. II where genres such as Disco, Afro, Funk, and Boogie are the strong dish. DELFONIC EDITS is a four track EP which opens with “Don’t Stop Dancing” a 70’s fresh dance track with a infectious pecussion, strong strings, warm synths and powerful vocals followed by “Into The Stars” a brazilian bombshell where boogie and funk match perfectly. Perfect track for chilin and start the night. The B-Side is a homage to afro funk and dance scene “Let The Music Take Control” a 70’s eclectic dance turned into an infectious deep mood dj that will make you dance all night long. and last but no least the release close with “Into The Galaxy” it’s an edit of one of the funkiest track ever made by rare disco rock band “WAR”.

Delfonic Edits Pt. II (NMD 039)

Nomada Records has shown several times that they have a good sense for fresh talents. This time the label spotted the sample-based producer Martin Georgi (quietelegance, OYE Black, Seismographic Records).

He has already popped up in the deep house scene a few years ago, as Delfonic kissed the artist from his slumber by releasing tracks of him which originally were produced on vinyl back in 2008. So, no wonder that on the flipside of the new release, a contribution by Delfonic can be found. It is a live session, originally penned by Georgi and pursuing the idea of bizarre mash-up. In addition, on the B-side you will find another interesting name which can be interpreted as an “alias” of Martin Georgi himself.

The A-side acts as an EP called “Motor City Damage Ep”. Here, Georgi was inspired by the rising civic movement from Detroit. While the car industry had abandoned D-Town, they left behind not only a high unemployment rate, but also unused industrial wasteland. Some of those very large areas are used now by a citizens’ initiative for vegetable gardens, bringing in a benefit for the citizens involved. Georgi was so fascinated by this initiative that he sampled and connected interview excerpts from the project, in strong contrast to interview snippets from different documentaries, which focuse on Detroit's suffering from poverty and unemployment. This is how the track “Green Motor Damage” was created. As a musical reinforcement keyboardist and synth lover George John (Kommerz, Gettogether, BlaqNumbers) got to the keys, giving the track a soulful funky touch. Another track on the EP’s A-Side is called “Summer Kisses”, which “romanticizes” the dystopian aura of the city Detroit with idiosyncratic monotony. Here Georgi adapted the idea of film director Jim Jarmusch who pursued a similar project in his film “Only Lovers Left Alive”.

The third track is called “Waiting for a call” with a slight wink for the dance floor, but also an ironic statement on the exploitation of employees by outsourcing jobs to call center companies.

Undoubtedly Martin Georgi stands for a unique way of approaching musical productions. On the one hand through the dusty, persistent technique of sampling, on the other hand he is not guided by current trends, but much more by his reflections on social and ecological issues. One who ensures that the current dance floor continues to feel the skillful era of “intelligent sample-based house music”!

Right at the very end of 2020 @Delfonic released his Edit's EP with Colombia's ace @nomadarec. It was a huge success selling out not once but twice on vinyl and receiving heavy DJ support throughout 2021. 

Now Berlin's disco professor is back with a second EP of equally brilliant work. Following on from their recent @Delfonic Edits Vol 2, which was a huge LV favourite, @nomadarec are back with Martin Georgi's (@user-809487436) 5 track Motor City Damage EP which pays some serious homage to the deepest of Detroit house from cosmic key led journey Green Motor Damage through to throbbing electronic edged club slammer Fix Your Up.

Our premier from the EP today is Marvin's Trip as remixed by the aforementioned Delfonic. He's is a key supporter of Martin so it's apt that he jumps in on this EP. On Marvin's Trip he has turned in a brilliant Detroit-esque disco edged houser, super deep and super cool. Just the way we like it.

PREMIERE: Zopelar - Pure Heart [Nómada Records]

Una fantasía de Discoholycs debe ser bailar "Don Quichotte" en una disco de 1983. Aunque recién nacían, han creado un universo en torno a estilos musicales de esa época en el cual pueden disfrutar a gusto su evidente obsesión por estos sonidos. 
Los chicos fueron invitados por el documental mexicano 'Discolocos' para renovar alguno de sus temas preferidos, a lo cual respondieron con un rework del burlesco track unido con la voz de la danesa Ann Mimoun. Revisen este nuevo experimento del duo nómada, es otra de las curiosidades a las que nos vienen acostumbrando.

Purple Zippers, the Bogotá-based electronic band, returns with their new EP called “Over”. While listening to Purple Zippers you´ll be able to embrace one delightful sonorous experience that, most certainly, won´t let you down. This talented threesome of electronic musicians is returning to the musical scene without leaving behind their characteristic funk and rock roots.

The Purple Zippers’ new EP consists of 4 songs characterized by their plurality. This is why we are certain “Over” will make people talk, not only on a local level, but also on an international level. In that vein, this new approach manages to adhere more ingredients to this electronic recipe; to be more specific, ‘Down-tempo’ is the word that perfectly describes the new Purple Zippers’ production due to its much darker and organic sound. What´s been mentioned above differentiates ‘Over’ from the previous band´s releases; a band that had their public used to much higher ‘BPM´’ and sounds that were almost industrial. Those who keep track of the ´Purple Zippers’ know that the synthesizers have always been, and they will continue to be, a big part of the band´s identity, and this new EP is not the exception.

Finally, we invite you to expect more analog sounds than ever before; ‘moog’ sounds that mix with beats influenced by house, hip-hop and R&B, in order to set a path for the edgy sound the Purple Zippers want to introduce us to.

Purple Zippers, La agrupación bogotana, vuelve con su nuevo trabajo titulado “Over”. Al escuchar a los Zippers usted podrá embarcarse en una deleitante experiencia sonora que promete no defraudar. Este talentoso trío de electrónica vuelve a la escena musical y lo hace sin dejar de lado el funk y el rock, sus ya conocidas y características raíces.

La agrupación bogotana trae consigo un nuevo EP que consta de cuatro canciones que seguro darán de qué hablar a nivel local e internacional por su pluralidad. Así las cosas, esta nueva propuesta logra adherirle más ingredientes a la receta; en definitiva, ‘Down-tempo’ es la palabra que define a la perfección la nueva producción de los Zippers debido a su sonido mucho más oscuro y orgánico. Lo anterior diferencia a ‘Over’ de los trabajos anteriores de la banda; una banda que tenía acostumbrado a su público a un ‘BPM´’ más alto y a sonidos casi industriales. Para quienes le siguen la pista a los ´Purple Zippers’, no es un secreto que los sintetizadores son y serán parte de la identidad dela banda, y este nuevo EP no es la excepción a la regla.

Por último, lo invitamos a atenerse a sonidos más análogos que nunca; sonidos del ‘moog’ que se mezclan con beats influenciados por el house, el hip-hop y el R&B, para así darle paso al nuevo sonido vanguardista que proponen los Zippers.

El funk, el house y el disco fueron algunas de las razones que llevaron a Iván y Andrés a decidir, hace algunos años, en sus épocas universitarias, a emprender el viaje que hoy en día tiene como nombre Discoholycs. Un proyecto que rescata a través pistas bailables y frescas el groove y la excentricidad de los 70`s y los 80`s con un aire actual.

“Don Genaro Ep”, su más reciente producción, es un homenaje a su viejo amigo y mascota que los acompañó durante años. Como parte de un tributo que se le rinde a su mejor amigo, este Ep cuenta con dos producciones originales: “Don Genaro”, track muy influenciado por el hip hop ochentero, acompañado de synthes futuristas, y “Que es Funk?”, una producción, más cercana al deep house, con cierto corte hip hopero en sus beats. Este duo reitera su amor por el funk, a través del sampler de una entrevista del padrino George Clinton.

Así mismo, un viejo amigo de la casa, el portugués;  Bruno Cardoso a.k.a Xinobi (Discotexas) nos deja un maravilloso remix para el sencillo "Don Genaro"; el cual Nómada Records tiene el placer de presentarlo como Free Download como agradecimiento del constante apoyo de su público durante el 2016.

Funk, House and Disco were some of the reasons that led Ivan and Andres to decide a few years ago, in their college times to undertake the journey that today is known as Discoholycs. A Project that rescues through danceable and fresh music that Groove and eccentricity from 70’s and 80’s with a modern air.

“Don Genaro Ep” their latest production, is a tribute to their old friend dog called “Genaro” who accompanied them for many years. This Ep features two original tracks: “Don Genaro” a track heavily influenced by the eighties Hip Hop and Funk, accompanied by futuristic synths, and “Que Es Funk?”, a production closer to Deep House mixed with Hip Hop beats and samples. This duo spread their love for the Funk by sampling an intevirew by the godfather of the funk “George Clinton”

By also an old friend, the portuguese; Bruno Cardoso a.k.a Xinobi (Discotexas)gives us an outstanding remix for "Don Genaro" Single. Which Nómada Records is pleased to give it away as appreciation of the constant support from by its fans during this 2016.

After 'Sentimental' his latest release on Nomada Records the exploration of harmonic dubs and the influence of disco has always been present on Nico's work. He comes now with a release in which repetition comes present in every song in which the song developed throughout without being obvious. Congas, shakers and a common vibrating rhodes fills up the EP named 'Dub Shaker'.

Steam its first track introduces the mood that will be present on the whole EP, making it a soft club song with an on going baseline, finishing with sweet vocals and pulsating horns. Follow up by “Can’t do my thing” a dub track with an on going guitar riff which develops frenzy in the club. And last but not least of the original tracks comes “Reflect' a definitely club track which translates in a fluctuating bass companied by sweet soul vocals and a romanticised rhodes piano. The EP includes an stunning remix by one of Nico's favourites Dicky Trisco, who never disappoints when it comes to baselines & disco. Enjoy Nico Saav's Steam EP.

Después de "Sentimental" su último lanzamiento en Nomada Records la exploración de las dubs armónicas y la influencia de disco siempre ha estado presente en el trabajo de Nico. Él viene ahora con un lanzamiento en el cual la repetición viene presente en cada canción en la cual se desarrolla a través sin ser obvia. Congas, shakers y un rhodes vibrante llena el EP titulado "Dub Shaker".

Steam su primera pista introduce el estado de ánimo que estará presente en todo el EP, convirtiéndolo en una canción de club suave con una línea de bajo en curso, terminando con una voz dulce y metales pulsantes. Seguido por "Can't Do My Thing" una pista de dub con un riff de guitarra en marcha que desarrolla frenesí en el club. Y por último pero no menos importante de las pistas originales viene "Reflect" definitivamente una pista de club que se traduce en un bajo flotante acompañado de voces de soul y un romántico piano rhodes. Muy contentos de recibir en nuestra familia nómada al productor mexicano Guillermo Santana a.k.a Hotmood. Su carrera como productor empezó en el año del 2005 y ha lanzado su música en importantes sellos como Starcreature, Tugboatedits, Editorial Records, SFSB, Whiskey Pickle y entre otros, donde ha demostrado su sentido avanzado en el sampling de la música disco y jazz de los 70’s.

Disco Flava Ep es su debut con Nómada Records y consta de tres tracks originales donde podemos percibir a través de técnicas como el sampling y el chopping una fuerte influencia por generos como el Latin Jazz, Disco y Funk. Además viene acompañado por dos exclusivos remixes por parte de los nómadas Discoholycs y Felipe Gordon, quienes le agregan a los sencillos Pyschomaniac y Disco Flava ese ingrediente housero faltante.

We’re very excited to receive in our nomad family the mexican producer Guillermo Santana a.k.a Hotmood. His Career as a producer begun in 2005 and he has realesed his music on important labels such as Starcreature, Tugboatedits, Editorial Records, SFSB, Whiskey Pickle and among others, where he has demostrated his advance sampling sense on disco and jazz music from the seventies.

Without sidelining his signature Lofi Jazz House, Felipe Gordon comes back with to Nomada Records with :Wolf Slang Amateur Prozac Ep'; a combination of different states of mind where he accomplish to mature his sound and improves his production techniques trhough meticulous sampling, syncopated drums, self vocal arrangements and a detailed composed work using synthesis. For it’s second vinyl release, Colombian Label @nomadarec returns presenting Ferdinand Domes’ debut solo EP called “Wuye Wuye” which includes five original tracks infected of heavy MPC drunken Hip Hop beats, percussion, jazzy harmonies, urban melancholia, deep funky basslines, dusty rhodes and warm synths.

Ferdinand is a newcomer producer from Germany, with strong influences of genres such as Hip Hop, Jazz, House and that old school sound that you can get with a MPC Sampler and an Analog Record Tape. Once you hear the first side A track “Wuye Wuye” you will feel like shaking your head up and down with the heavy drunken Groove and the catchy dissonant rhodes phrase. On A2 side there’s “Yosaph”; track which is more friendly with a jazzy deep vibe and scratch samples for those who like smoking and chilling at home. The Last Track on Side A is “Gomme Arabique” a melancholic experimental track with a drunken African percussion, deep jazzy chords and a deep funky bass line. At last but no least you will find two killer dancefloors tracks “Kazimir 2000” and “Drumwrack” on B side. Those two tracks are heavily influenced by Hip Hop and and jazz where you can see how Ferdinand knows to Swing and Groove the MPC as J.Dilla used to.
