Ok, you're the DJ(s)...8:45am...the morning sun is shining, and a field of friends and family are reveling in the afterglow of a three hour dawn set by Thugfucker.  What do you play?  How do you follow that?  These are questions Dao & I were honored and privileged to answer more than hypothetically at the FnF summer campout 2012, only a few days ago.  We are proud to have spent  time and energy crafting this set.  (This is a re-creation, polished and pretty for you ;)  We wore kimonos.  We had a blast.  We're grateful and amazed and we're still glowing!  Kimono-a-go-go 4eva. ;-)  (please see timed comments for ALL track ID's, and support the artists!!)

69, ying yang, push pull, love hate. In this series I really expose my true love of electronic music, utilizing personally edited tracks, letting you the listener to decide who is the hero and who is the villain.
So grateful to my brothers and sisters at DISTRIKT for having me out at the Belasco Theater in DTLA to play this for them. 
This set is dedicated to my late distrikt brother Mikey Reigle, as thoughts of him drove it's creation.

“So, eleven hundred men went into the water. 316 men come out, the sharks took the rest. Saturday, FnF poolside 12:45, 2019. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.” -Quint from Jaws. The sharks swam vigorously, the ravers ignored them, apparently good vibes repel sharks. Dao and PWNY sent their sexy shark house through human and marine cartilage alike. UV rays pounded through the ozone on FnF pool inhabitants and after a taxing Friday night many looked to the soundwaves for healing and invigoration. The music funked and jived through the mid 120 bpms. Floaties spontaneously combusted and the beat carried the party through the + 90° hotness. Some shopped at the clothing swap, some enjoyed massages, everyone heard the duo hold the afternoon. Dao and PWNY have toured the lower 48 for 10 years now, mostly via rideshare and short bus. Their head and booty bobbing beats have become an FnF staple. Whether opening, closing, in the day or at night, everyone eats their green egg breaks and hambone house. They brought the dome over the pool down with their finishing track “baby shark dance.” Hundreds of closeted opears, nannies and dad joke offenders came out of the woodwork with that family friendly heater. As always Dao and PWNY meant business Saturday, as Quint says best “I’m not talkin’ about pleasure boatin’ or daily sailin’, I’m talkin’ about workin’ for a livin’, I’m talking about sharkin’!” ... Raver Tip #80: Apparently good vibes repel sharks.

Dao & Pwny - FnF Poolside 2019

On this weeks episode of the Space Cowboys RIPEcast, we are continuing to celebrate Bay Area DJ heroes by bringing you Jess Stockton from the Brass Tax crew.  Here is a few words from Jess about this mix:

"This mix is a midtempo/funky house journey through some of my favorite genres- soul, hip-hop, gospel, bluegrass, Dolly (yeah, Dolly probably counts as her own genre). It makes me and mine move our happy asses and I hope it does the same for you and yours. Shout out to my crews Brass Tax and Angels of bAss- proud to still be going strong after all these years with y'all. And to HazMatt and my little man QDubs- my biggest cheerleaders and harshest critics who egg me on with DJ treats (french fries and booty shakes) but also never hesitate to tell me when something sounds "yucky."
