"I started this track around July 2022, and I believe the first element I started with was the chord progression. This was around a time where I was just introducing myself to learning new chord progressions and this is still one of my favorite progressions I've done.
For me, making my drums sound how I want has always come naturally, while making chord progressions + melodic ideas is something that is harder for me, and I've been focusing on getting better at melodic ideas for the past year. So whenever I stumble upon a great chord progressions or melodic idea, I know I have something special. This track is an example of that. Once I put the chords down, it gave me a lot of inspiration for the drums, bass and leads. Something in particular you'll notice in my lead sounds is that I like to use a lot of vibrato in certain moments, you'll hear that throughout the track.
When I was making this track, I was also working on fitting my own vocals into my beats as an effect. You can hear I made a little 4 bar vocal interlude where I sing a few chords.
For the 2nd half of this track, I tried to paint a different picture with the same chords, with different sounds and different drums. There's this one digital guitar sound in the 2nd half that I've used in a lot of my beats, especially in 2022. It's a stock Ableton preset for the Ableton synth "Tension", and it sounded really nice when I made an arp element out of it."
