Thank You Slipknot is Machine Woman's intense entry onto the Sacred Tapes roster. Comprising 5 tracks and coming in at under 30 minutes, this is an EP full of techno-influenced heavy hitters with the odd diversion into the experimental. A recent resident of Manchester and now living in Berlin, the unique sonic soundtrack of these two cities is clearly imprinted on her music and having been deeply involved in the artistic haven that is Islington Mill is bound to have had a lasting influence.

Drawing musical inspiration from industrial works is not exactly a new thing. Yet, we were very excited when Mira Laune flexed® with what we call a modern-day interpretation of the theme. After well over a year of hearing construction work right in front of her home in Basel, the DJ and radio host Mira Laune decided to make the best out of it and reached for her own power tools. The result is a well-crafted and rugged mix for the curious rhythmophiles.

Formation


In this collaboration, Radboud Mens and I explore the tension between stasis and movement. Operating within the realm of drone and electroacoustic music, we construct a sonic landscape where sustained tones and microscopic events constantly shape and reshape each other. What initially appears static reveals itself to be rich with detail: tiny acoustic shifts breathe life into apparent stillness, inviting focused and attentive listening.

The album emerged from a process where sound research, improvisation, and sound design merge. Self-built instruments, the search for timbre and texture, and recordings of the learning process itself form the foundation of these compositions. Rather than following a traditional musical structure, the result is a sonic field in which the minimal continually transforms depending on the listener’s perspective. This is a layered and handcrafted album that doesn’t narrate, but questions. Marking A Boundary With The Turning Point is not a boundary. It’s an invitation to listen differently.
