Our main support act for our next event with TAAHLIAH, Soria has risen to become one of the most forward thinking producers in Ireland, demonstrating her Live and DJ Sets across various Dublin venues and parties, and as far afield as Berlin and Lisbon. She recently released her Storegga EP tape with Skin and Blister Club in All City with a beautiful live set. She blesses our mix series with some perfectly ethereal progressive house and uplifting trance, setting the mood for next Thursday right as we are buzzing for her set!

One moment you throw your arms in the air because the bass drop arrived unexpectedly, and the next you freeze, enveloped by a dense fog of ambient sounds, before a chopped vocal sample subtly conjures up the next tune. Interlooping rhythms, sudden mood shifts, and weird leaps to wherever the bassline heads, are the key signature of the Berlin-based dérive. Known for her UK Bass-driven sets, she chose her name wistfully, as the definition of the situationist movement's concept shows: "a mode of experimental behavior linked to the conditions of urban society: a technique of rapid passage through varied ambiances." A sentence one can think about, or dance to – if dérive puts on another banger.

A few weeks ago, my good friend Grant asked me if I could lend a hand with a track he was finishing. Stunned by his incredible vocals, it felt like an honor to support him in any way I could. He told me, “One day, I’ll ask you to make your own interpretation of it.”

Yesterday turned out to be one of the most draining days I’ve had in a long while. I was so exhausted that when I finally opened FL Studio to try and channel all the negative energy, nothing came out — just a blank. Then I remembered what Grant had said a few weeks earlier. We had been talking on Discord while he was also helping me with two of my own tracks. I asked him to send me the raw vocal files, and once I had them, the journey began. Suddenly, everything I had bottled up started to flow into the music.
