Argo's collaboration with Chestplate is a natural fit, as both the artist and label share a dedication to evolving dubstep without sacrificing its core elements.

In this EP Argo masterfully blends raw energy, organic textures, and intricate bass manipulation in each track, showcasing his talent for creating deep, atmospheric soundscapes that pay homage to the genre's roots while pushing it into new territories. Both track have already gained support from Distance, Hijinx, Cimm, Pinch, Dj Ntype plus more.

Track 1. Marécage Urbain.

A dark stomper with a gritty, organic vibe that rattles the chest and moves the soul. Argo's meticulous sampling brings an added layer of authenticity, making this track feel both heavy and alive with a relentless rhythm and a raw intensity that echoes the underground roots of dubstep.

Track 2. Onyxia

Bringing in a 2-step vibe, 'Onyxia' echoes the sound of legendary Horsepower Productions, with its soulful guitar samples and eerie synth strings creating an atmosphere that's both haunting and hypnotic. A perfect balance of nostalgia and forward-thinking production.

Совместная и сольная активность участников BLOCKLAB – это весомый вклад в развитие отечественной бас сцены.

BLOCKLAB is a tandem of two representatives from Krasnoyarsk – Sector.13 and WASTA. In a short period of time, the duo has gained recognition not only from dubstep enthusiasts worldwide but also effectively represents the genre and other facets of bass music on the Moscow-based imprint System 108. The project’s signature sound emerges at the intersection of bass music and hip-hop, offering listeners not only uncompromising beats but also a more atmospheric and cinematic vibe. The joint and solo activities of BLOCKLAB members make a significant contribution to the development of the domestic bass scene.

The track is inspired by BLOCKLAB’s participation in the summer Dub Raw Camp 2024.

D-Operation Drop is a 6-man crew from Cesena, Italy with a strong and growing catalog of sound system killers, from orthodox steppers to dubstep abstractions and strange hybrids of the two.   Recent releases on Moonshine, Artikal, and Lion Charge have cemented their position, and we are thrilled to invite them into the ZamZam fold with two chunks of 140 weight.

“Warrior March” opens with a mesmerizing pad that immediately draws the unsuspecting into a unique soundworld and doesn’t let go til the runout groove.   A smeared, chopping-block snare, deep subsonic rumblings, swung percussion, massed yet minimal horns make a darkly coiled track, menacing yet full of funk and movement.  

“Sativa Team” captivates just as deeply with fewer moving parts, loping drums and leaden percussion, churning bassline, chopped and glitched JA-voices and sound tape, and ominous, clipped horns that wobble with tape delay in a strange airless void.  Brooding yet cathartic, tripped out but fully physical, with both tunes D-Operation Drop display their total control over a restrained and powerful palette.

Strictly limited to 700 copies for the world.  No digital, no repress.  Two color blend roll screen print by Polygon Press.  Shipping first week of July alongside ZamZam 55.
