Carrier’s experiments in rhythmic pressure continue with In Spectra, the second offering on his eponymous imprint following releases for FELT and The Trilogy Tapes. A triad of kinetic reductions from an unrivalled practitioner in angular minimalism.

In Spectra finds Guy Brewer magnifying the approach taken on Neither Curve Nor Edge, unthreading the micro-structures within to strip bare his process of reverse-engineered dance forms. His hyper-focus continues on sound and texture, but meshed tighter in tense atmospherics with fascinating results.

Coastal circles the lurch with steady poise, rallying with its faint hardcore momentum and muted dub reverberations. Wood Over Plastic scatters its disassembled rhythmic remains across warped zones of surreality, before closer Locus furrows inside a repurposed stepper amidst sharpened percussion and a creeping sub. Further proof of Carrier’s unique vision, In Spectra is a vital development along his open-ended sonic journey.
