Dysmennorhea

This is an earlier piece - 2005 I believe. I have since lost the original file. This is one of the few things that taught me about backup. I do the opening "It's alive!" My wife does the female "affirmations." With the exception of the drum, dnb, and vox tracks - there are a lot of pre-fab samples and loops in this one )you guys know what I'm talking about). But it is still a fun, quirky one. Towards the end of the track a new synth sequence comes in. It is my homage to Jean Jacques Perrey. He is the guy that composed the music for the Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade - and as electronic musicians we owe him a great deal for being one of, if not the first electronic musician.

Daily Affirmation

AKA Ventricular Tachycardia. This is one of my first Trance projects from 2004-ish. The cool thing about this piece is that it was something 36 channels, tracks, or stems (in the nineties they were called 'tracks') of prefab loops and samples. Not one piece of original instrumentation - even the synths and sequences were prefab loops and samples. Enjoy!

V - Tach

In 2004 I got my first laptop. A few months later I got my first music production software: Magix Music Maker 2005 deLuxe and it was all over after that and I have been making electronic music ever since. I mean I’ve always played guitar, but electronic music opened my eyes to all the other styles out there. Since then I have tried all sorts of programs: Acid, Fruity Loops, Garage Band, even Magix Music Maker 14 – but I always come back to the one that started it all for me: MMM 2005 deLuxe.

My style is hard to define. I like what I like. If I could call it “sound art” I would. I am influenced by so much and I find inspiration in the oddest places. I am inspired by the sound of people driving by, rhythms of breathing, weather, static on the radio, water, and insects. I spent a few summer nights in rural Oklahoma and Missouri a few years back and there was nothing like it. From the constant, long, almost eternal rolls of thunder to the deafening crickets and cicadas – I must say it was like nothing I have ever heard before.
  As artists, I think we can become creatively selfish. Without new influence and inspiration our art tends to be homogenized. New ideas help us evolve. Having said that I am always down to collaborate – so hit me up!
