Still a WIP, but I'm so excited about it I just had to put it up so I could get back on my lab reports due tomorrow and stop working on it!

My first "progressive" post-trip hop song. The plan is after the initial 8 beat solo intro, to add a new layer every 16 beats. It will be at least 5 minutes long in total, but I'm shooting for around 8 minutes. More subtle changes will be made to the drum beat's rhythm over time, with the samples used changing subtly as the song progresses. I want this one to be epic in the end, I plan on working on it all next week when I'm on vacation.

Title should say it all, but the concept is a thunderstorm. An epic, world-shaking thunderstorm, like that feeling you get in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when a blowout is about to occur. The sky turns red and menacing, sirens blare out warning of imminent danger, that feeling that you better find shelter quick, or you're fucking dead. And not a fun, painless death, either.

That, but on the level of some apocalyptic shit. I want it to build from a low rumble off in the distance into something immense and terrifying, then  drop quickly (but not instantly) as you reach the "eye of the storm", and then come back to something that sounds earth-shattering, ripping and tearing the planet apart with blistering lightning, fierce winds, and monsoon-level rain (which is what the shakers sound like they could symbolize).

Let me know what you think of the sounds and the direction my creations are going in, negative feedback is fine, this is only going to be up for a week before it's replaced.

The Bombing of Dresden

Tractor Beam

An Instrumental Trip Hop beat, made for vocals. Intro - 16 bar verse - 8 bar hook - verse - hook. Looking for rappers and singers, I'd prefer 2 different MC's and a singer for the hook, good duo's get preference. Let me know if anyone's interested in collab on this.

Autocannon (WIP)

Stream of consciousness sorta stuff, named "Droplets" since those modified wooden block sounds sound sort of like rain droplets to me.

Just a simple song I've been working on for the past couple of days. I just made a EDM-esque drum beat and went with it by layering. I played it instrument layer by instrument layer live, then quantized everything to 16th notes with 33% swing, and cleaned up the result a little. I enjoy playing live stuff and quantizing it in different ways to see what sticks, like a combination between human playing and digital perfection. It can be enjoyed both for it's simplicity, but also for the complexity of subtle changes. Still (hopefully) trying to keep that Trip Hop vibe, though.

Everything done in NanoStudio, all synths are it's included Eden synth.

Droplets

Now that I have a real mic for a change (Shure SM58 instead of just the built-in iPod mic), I thought I'd try uploading some more acoustic guitar blues improv. This is a continuation of the original freeform song which many of you enjoyed so much.

I'm thinking soon I'm going to remove all of the guitar stuff from here and create a second soundcloud account, saving this one for my electronic stuff and having the second one for all of my acoustic and "traditional" instrumentals. The two different audiences may get confused with things the way they currently are, and I'm short on upload time so this should help lessen the burden of having to delete old tracks.

No edits or anything were made beyond adding a little reverb and EQ. All done with Audacity.

A Case of the Mondays Pt 2

I'd like to do some collaboration with you guys (anyone who listens to my stuff), so here's a beat I've made today, that I think is finished and properly mastered (to the best of my current ability, at least).

I'm giving it out for free download, anyone can download it and do some rapping or whatever on top of it. All I ask is for credit in the title, like "Warm Hearth (Prod. by Non-Repeating Decimal)". You can change the name if you want.

Warm Hearth

Title is a result of what I ended up imagining while creating it. A rough, brute force symbolized by the bass, resulting in something very chaotic and violent, perhaps even cataclysmic.

Some people have been requesting I have the drums by themselves in the beginning of a song since they like their sound and would like to hear the drums alone, so this is an experiment with that as well.

A Tearing of Spacetime

Basically a recorded combination of 3 loops using my looper pedal and run through a tube pre-amp into scarlett 2i2. Everything else with effects and such done through Audacity.

The Snow Job

Now that I apparently have an entire extra hour of upload time for some reason (used to be at limit I believe), decided to record the entirety of one of my improv sessions. All done in one take, no editing, with my Ovation Custom Legend connected directly to my audio interface and my fingers. Added a little reverb to make it sound better, but that's all.

Mélange

Finally combined my guitar playing and Trip Hop. Sounds pretty dark and murky, title is the first name that came into my head while listening to it.

Let me know what you think of how my producing skills are coming along, I'd really appreciate it. Bass fans should be pretty happy with it.

Days of our Youth

Decided to mix things up a bit, do some live instrumentation on my Alesis QS7.1 instead of my guitar like I usually do. Should be a good demo since I didn't do any compression or put any effects on it aside from the ones in the instrument itself (it's a digital synth from the 90's), all improv on the minor scale.
