New York City based multifaceted musician and artist Drumloop releases “Limiting Mindset” on 12” LP on Psychic Liberation on May 1st, 2024.

Emerging from the freezing sea, a winged automata ascends over  Mount Erebus and the ice shelves below. Like an arrow aimed at the heavens she flies towards the atmosphere, caught by gravity's kiss. Held, inches from the interstellar sublime, aching for release. Negotiations with divine emissaries. She's accepted into the twinkling astral entropy of soundless void. Breathless in the endless womb of stars. Phantom echoes of the language of unknown metals. Internal depths exposed, exalted and reabsorbed. Returned, whole and warm. Softly descending. Imbued with ultraviolet, embraced by blue depths, returned to the liquid core. Succor for the oceans of grief.

“Limiting Mindset” is sublime. Closer to a sacrament than an album. A divine transmission intercepted by Antarctic listening stations. I am reminded of the depths plumbed by Porter Ricks, of the tundra cool of Thomas Köner’s solo works, the tapestry of Tim Hecker’s emotional fractals and Autechre at their most interstellar. One could draw these comparisons, but Drumloop clearly inhabits her own unique space. A piercing emotional resonance permeates the entire proceeding. It’s like listening to a conversation between fathomless and private internal spaces with the endless astral entropy that surrounds all things. Each song stands beautifully on its own, while remaining integral to the whole. Transmutation as song. You will not leave unmoved.

Daffy Scanlan is an artist and musician based in New York City. Her work compounds the corresponding passageways between memory, time, and space. Under the moniker Drumloop, she collages language with piano and digital synthesis, creating sonic representations of emotive internal universes.

Aho Ssan is the artist name of Paris based Niamké Désiré. After studying graphic design and cinema, he began to com-pose electronic music and create his own digital instruments. Shortly thereafter he went on to win the Foundation France television prize for his soundtrack to the film of Ingha Mago in 2015 and has worked on several projects related to IRCAM/GRM in France. His debut LP «Simulacrum» was released on the 7th of February 2020 via Subtext Recordings.Based on the concept of Jean Baudrillard, it navigates through society’s presentation of inclusivity and equality against my own experience of growing up black in France.

Dive into the dark, raw, and unrelenting world of Hajj with the "Repulsive Reflections Thru This Fucking Phone Remixes" EP, a complex exploration of the sinister and the introspective. This release on Bad Tips offers a striking contrast between two distinct sonic territories, encapsulating both the chaotic energy of the club and the deeper, spiritual realms of late-night introspection.

The EP opens with four explosive remixes of "Reflections on Repulsiveness," a track originally featured on Bad Tips' "Good Vibes Vol. 1." Hajj's own VIP version amplifies the hardcore and metal elements, transforming the track into a ferocious, head-banging anthem that descends into the abyss. King Doudou then takes us to the twisted streets of São Paulo, infusing the remix with nervy, repulsive funk, while Ronce delivers a corrosive, gritty interpretation that oozes with raw intensity. The duo Vina Konda & Mortal Voracity cap off the first half with a relentless mix, blending metal, bass, and Jersey influences into an indigestible yet euphoric concoction.

The second half of the EP delves into a more introspective space with four remixes of "I Tried To Tell Ya Something Thru This Fucking Phone," originally released on BFDM in 2020. Hajj's VIP reimagines the track with a darker, more nocturnal atmosphere, shifting from the original’s early morning vibes to a late-night intensity. Ukrainian producer Comechelet follows with a remix that balances progressive, militaristic rhythms with an organic, dark shimmer. Gargantuan Collapse (Gargantuan Grief x Modern Collapse) offers a raw, nihilistic take, imbued with a bleak romanticism. Toma Kami then brings the EP to a close with an abrasive yet spiritual rendition, channeling a primal sense of urgency.

This EP doesn’t shy away from experimentation, embodying the boundary-pushing ethos of Bad Tips. Though the release is rooted in a somber, pessimistic outlook, it resonates with the audacious spirit that defines the label. Available digitally and on CD via Bandcamp, this release will also be accompanied by a limited-edition T-shirt featuring artwork by tattoo artist Pepittta. To mark the occasion, a launch event will be held at Station Gare des Mines in Paris on September 21st, featuring performances from Hajj, Vina Konda & Mortal Voracity, Gargantuan Collapse (live), Ronce, Toma Kami, and label head gboi.

Hajj - I Tried To Tell Ya Something Thru This Fucking Phone (Comechelet Remix)

Extract from a live sound installation that folds together binaural and hydraulic recordings of the old salt mines and hydraulic systems of the Ricote Valley. Their sonic vibrations are carried via transducers into the crevices of the AADK studio's rock face and its resonant metal staircase. A live improvisation on the rock face with pickups and voice intervenes in the ebbs and flows of these tactile cross-currents.

Taking the road to nowhere can be tempting, just as the urge to leave everything behind. Paradoxically, embracing the void feels so fulfilling - but isn’t acceptance part of the grief? We’re all searching for our own secret place, where inner peace could finally grow from its embryonic stasis.

Much like that uncertain trail, the present 'Collage' compilation charts a course through the soft, dreamy side of contemporary electronic music. Designed either for the club or a living room, this ethereal patchwork of 14 tracks is woven from silk-like sound design. ambient techno, experimental, IDM, atmospheric dub sonic - each genre highlights in turns ultra-stretched audio spectrums, smooth instrumental lines, introspective reverberations or digital breaks.

After Jonnnah’s ‘The Next Kingdom’ - debut LP published earlier this year, this second release embodies the label’s musical ethos once again: cold yet heartwarming textures, celestial synths and volatile rhythms.

Kevin Drumm & Joachim Nordwall have, respectively, spent collective decades carving out new pathways in the realms of electroacoustic, drone, ambient, noise, and improvised experimental music. Their variably multiplied ripple effect across the sonorous waters of disruptive sound cultures are indellibly marked by the touch of these two artists. Neither being strangers to intensive collaborations, the two stalwarts of meditative sonic practice convene to offer Psychic Liberation the eight song album Old Pain. At just under an hour, the pair shine in a complementary fashion across perfectly constructed chapters pulling from their signature tool kits of atmospheric field recordings, tape loops, and pensive oscillations. Cautiously sharing space, the album is at times as brooding as it is transcendent. 

Old Pain is an album nearly two decades in the making. Beginning in 2006, Drumm and Nordwall endeavored to record together in Chicago, a session ultimately abandoned purportedly due to the influence of “Listening to Finnish Black Metal and drinking good brews”. In 2007, Drumm released the cassette Purge on Nordwalls iconic label IDEAL Recordings. Later ,in 2013, Purge was reissued on CD for IDEAL and a subsequent performance together in New York City found the two still in each other's orbit. Later, Kevin would make an appearance in collaboration with Nordwall on his Communication Is The Key Album for Entr’acte in 2019. Whereas previous in-person sessions faltered, Old Pain was the result of the two artists working in their respective winter-heavy geographies of Chicago and Gothenburg, trading files until completion.

Today, Drumm and Nordwall are totems of an era of true advancement in tonal despair. Drumm’s output has been that of mythology, creating some of the most singular works in the canon of experimental music. Nordwall, an equally notable peer as maker, has maintained the global standards and operations of challenging art through his IDEAL Recordings project while performing in solo and collaborative contexts globally. Between the two, it would be a near impossible task to find an iteration of any peer or generation following not touched by the massive cultural imprint they’ve cemented. Finally, with Old Pain, we have a document of two masters of their form able to stretch their legs and pronounce a cohesive gesture of sonic material that will stand to long linger below the surface of comfort.

Pure Space presents Cell, the latest EP from Eora (Sydney)-based artist Pannotia - a producer sculpting intricate sonic ecosystems through dense, evolving synthesis. Inspired by microbiological processes, Cell pulses with organic mutation, where rhythm and texture shift like an evolving biocrust.

Written between Gadigal Land (Petersham) and London (2023–2025), the EP reflects a deep fascination with unseen worlds - microbial communities thriving in extreme conditions, reacting to their environments in ways both alien and familiar.

Across four tracks, Pannotia explores a spectrum of tempos and moods, from the swampy and viscous to the clinical and mechanical. The EP opens with the title track Cell, a dense and hypnotic techno cut whose constantly evolving nature keeps you locked in. Life Cycle follows, a track driven by grinding lead synths and steady percussion that propels forward with restless motion. Biozone takes a more organic approach, mirroring ecological systems in constant flux.

Closing out the EP, Tessellate emerges as a doof-ready anthem, featuring the voice of Cyano in her musical debut - delivering a spoken exploration of microscopic landscapes. For good measure, a Dub Mix strips things back while maintaining the energy.

A contemporary snapshot of Pannotia’s sonic evolution, Cell is a dark, trippy, and ever-shifting ecosystem; alive with movement, modulation, and mutation.

Claudio PRC’s (@claudioprc) fifth album, Self Surrender, unfolds as a reflective journey of self-acceptance, a story embracing reality in its purest and most unfiltered form. Released via Delsin Records, this marks his first full-length album on the label, following the EP’s Rites of Passage (2021), Challenger Deep (2022) and Golden Scales (2024).

The album explores different and more leftfield sonic corners, while remaining true to Claudio’s cavernous, deep, and spiritual essence. It’s a journey through different styles, with echoes of the past and contemporary influences merging.

Self Surrender begins with ambient and dub echoes, moving through dark, minimal rhythms and deep techno. It blends techno and house elements, exploring themes of sin and redemption with cutting synths and tight grooves. This first half of the longplayer closes introspectively with a reflective ambient piece.

In the second part, the sound shifts to more energetic techno. It’s driven by heavy kicks and dreamy atmospheres, with acid-laden textures and haunting strings. To conclude, Self Surrender closes with an ethereal track, fully embodying the theme of surrender and acceptance.

Born in Sardinia and now based in Berlin, Claudio PRC has been a key figure in the deep techno scene since 2006. His music is deeply rooted in a philosophical approach, drawing from Detroit techno, electroacoustics, and his academic background in Music and New Technologies. Over the years, he has released on labels such as Prologue Music, Semantica Records, while also establishing his label 012 as a platform for art and sound research.

New York City / Berlin — Appendix.files presents xochicuicatl, a 5-track collection of raw ambient excavations and subversive emotional fragments from secret getii. Recorded in NYC in the spring of 2023, the EP wanders through dream-smeared cityscapes and back again, channeling the hazy comedown of overstimulation into abstract, cathartic form. This is ambient not as background, but aftermath — think LSD flashbacks in a graffiti-soaked alley, suddenly grounded by the warmth of a friend’s couch and a slow-burning existential clarity. xochicuicatl operates somewhere between the debris of club culture and the softness of shared space. Each track teeters between euphoria and melancholia, thick with distortion, delay, and heart.

Across its 30-minute runtime, secret getii shapes textures that hum with emotional interference: rough-edged tones that distort as they soothe, melodic loops that spiral inward, voices half-buried beneath noise and reverb. The titles alone—half revolution, no revolution, i think i’m a drug dealer now, everyone is a supermodel—read like private transmissions, at once ironic, sincere, and a little unhinged.

Dedicated to Noel Flores, Lazaro Rodriguez, and Robert “Ready Freddy” Jennings, xochicuicatl is both personal document and shared code—intimate, unresolved, and entirely its own.

For her new sound installation, Yellow Brick Variations, Nichols explored ways of listening and connecting to her local environment during her artist residency at Yellow Brick, Athens. 

Through hydrophone and binaural field recordings Nichols traced the local Kifissia river path and intersecting metro line and navigated the topography of the ancient city’s aqueducts and archaeological parks. Her situated listening practice also extended into explorations of phonic and somatic resonance inside Yellow Brick’s interior architecture. Yellow Brick Variations weaves these recordings together, creating a dialogue between vocal and topographical vibrations.
