The crunch of pine cones under your feet. Clouds glimpsed through the branches of towering trees. You already know — what comes next is everything you once loved: the creak of the old metal gate at the dacha, the rope swing hanging from the willow bowed over the pond, ice cream melting in the summer heat from the kiosk in the neighboring garden settlement, the echo of your footsteps through abandoned pioneer camp buildings, the smell of your mother's vegetable soup wafting from the kitchen, the locomotive's whistle and the rhythmic clatter of express trains rushing past the station. The only thing missing would be kaisou's mix for 5/8: radio. And that, of course, is a rather regrettable oversight

Next up at Edwin Music channel is Berlin-based producer and DJ @benediktfrey and his close friend @menqui with whom he co-runs the label R.i.O.

For EDWIN MUSIC CHANNEL, he joined forces with his friend Menqui, who is overseeing the administration for the R.i.O. label, is part of the Berlin-based Muting The Noise Record Store and Distribution crew, runs a radio show for Cashmere Radio and plays regular in all those small, but delicate Berlin bars and little dancefloor venues. Together they prepared an epic mix, created live and direct in Menqui’s living room, featuring all sorts of music from pop, Trip-Hop, and Hip-hop to free-tripping electronic grooves. Federsen’s Alt Dub label is back with its third ‘Artist Series’ VA, and it’s another gem for the heads who like their dub techno deep and unbothered. This edition lands with contributions from cv313, Taction, Hidden Sequence, and Fletcher, each orbiting around Federsen’s signature ethos: texture, depth, and restraint with purpose. 

Fletcher’s “A Distant Place” opens the B-side like a sunbeam through a dusty window. It’s soft, but it cuts. There’s a pulse here, but it drifts. Think of a long drive with nowhere to be, or a trail that leads somewhere quiet. The piano glints like light on water, while the groove rolls steady beneath, holding space without crowding it. It’s introspective but never cold, made for golden hour and places without ceilings. The third edition of ‘Artist Series’ is available for pre-order before it releases on May 26.
