//Was bedeutet deine Musik für dich?//
Die Tracks, aus denen ich dieses Set gebaut habe, versammeln ganz Verschiedenes. Ich lege selbst noch gar nicht lange (Techno) auf und bin auch von sehr viel Musik umgeben, die überhaupt nicht aus dieser Richtung kommt. Zum einen sind natürlich diese typischen Techno-Elemente da, finde ich auch sehr interessant. So metallisch, düster, brüchig klingende Sounds. Das Set hat ziemlich diese Züge. Gleichzeitig ist das Mood ja auch sehr ernst mit dieser typischen Signature. Damit kann ich mich persönlich einfach nicht so richtig identifizieren. Ich tauch da immer wieder ein und verbinde das vor allem mit dem Gefühl und dem Spaß beim Mixen. Das ist mir total wichtig. Ob das musikalisch so in dieser Richtung bleibt zukünftig, weiß ich noch nicht.

//Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration?//
Eine Inspirationsquelle sind für mich auf jeden Fall die kleinen Erfolgserlebnisse beim Mixen. Das inspiriert und pusht mich sehr, wenn Tracks, die mir gefallen und in den ersten Anläufen einfach nicht flüssig zusammenlaufen wollen, dann doch einen (runden) Mix ergeben. Es braucht einfach Zeit sich mit dem technischen Equipment einzugrooven und vertraut zu fühlen. Mich inspirieren lustigerweise ganz oft Momente, die direkt überhaupt nichts mit Techno zu tun haben. Was ich so schöne finde, ist durch Freund:innen ganz unterschiedliche, nicht nur elektronische Musik mitzubekommen. Auch aus eigenen Bands oder Projekten. Da ist ja auch ganz viel Persönliches mit drin und ne ganz eigene Ausdrucksweise, die mich sehr zum Mixen inspiriert.


//Was muss sich deiner Meinung nach an der Szene ändern?//
Noch immer unterrepräsentiert sind einfach FLINTA* Personen: in der DJ Fraktion, vor allem aber in der elektronischen Musikproduktion. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass viel Austausch in der Szene stattfindet, durch Mixing Workshops oder Veranstaltungsreihen, das ist extrem gut. Trotzdem ist das Ungleichgewicht noch immer groß. Ich glaube, dass es auch sehr wichtig ist, dass mehr Unterschiedlichkeit in die Szene kommt, ganz unterschiedlicher Background sich dem Mixen und dem Sound zu nähern. Auch wenn man nicht so das typische Clubkind ist oder so direkt an die Raveszene andocken kann. Ich würde mir sehr wünschen, dass gerade für FLINTA* (noch) mehr Orte in der Szene ins Leben gerufen werden, die mehr ermutigen und mehr heterogenen Gesprächsraum schaffen.

About the Compilation:
All About The Kick" is the title of the latest compilation, putting the 
focus on the rhythmic frequencies in the low Hz range. It's mainly fast, 
driving and forward. If there is a melody, then it is a harmonious 
accompaniment. All proceeds go to solidarity initiatives that work for 
refugees, women's* rights and LGBTQI people on the move.

Just as important as the musical composition, the songs are curated by 
Lisa tba and Thomas Liebkose is the balance of gender relations. In a 
techno scene still dominated by white cis-males, Kabelkiste tries to set 
a sign here, and also to offer a platform to newcomers. Thus, 7 artists 
gather on the now already 9th (10th?) compilation of Kabelkiste, who 
bring their kick to hammer with their tracks together against unjust 
conditions.

All songs are produced by: Nait Saves, MaRaven, Maura Lombardo, Lisa 
tba, Kabel Trace, Mila Chiral und Thomas Liebkose. Which we will 
introduce to you in further posts in the coming days. Stay tuned and 
share this post. Here's to getting a lot of donations together, and 
making a small contribution to support the work of care-workers and 
front-activists with music outside the mainstream.
