A seminal, bold and instantly nostalgic LP, Midnight Wave showcases Imre's immense ability to craft vivid landscapes of ethereal sound, infused with layers and years of emotional content. 

Culled from live-to-tape synth sessions in his once London abode, these tracks are the result of melancholic and restricted surroundings and trappings. 

What has emerged is a body of crackling, warm ambient and techno with a vast, cinematic scope. A sonic portrait of an alienated moment in London, told using industrial visceral tools and visualised through the cutting figure of a lonely individual boarding the 5am night bus home.

Here is a little biog about them:

In a Certain Ratio is a Music Project composed by Vicente Garcia and Esther Ester and based in Madrid.
Our influences are based on both current and old school sounds, from 80´s and 90´s sounds, with highlights of film soundtracks like Giallo, for example , to music made with Goblin synthesizers .
On this occasion, it is our pleasure to present this mix for our friends Death By Repetition. 

This mix is our personal approach towards new artists productions, working with hard synthesizers and yet full of rhythm, dark vowels, broken guitars, industrial boxes and touches of Indie and also some old production to bring a touch of freshness.
We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Berlin-based producer HRRSN doles out a slice of deep electronica carrying his distinct vocal style in his otherworldly Lunar Plant EP.

Whether it’s an ethereal intro or an intricate arrangement, HRRSN pours a lot of emotion into his music – bold swells, vocal cut-ups and cinematic strings sit tight on top of resonating drums. Such an apparition is Sane, the immersive opening of the release, where the artist neatly carves out an enduring groove through airy melodics and melancholic vocals.

Signes buzzes in with a stripped down, piano-infused lead line paired with cavernous tribal percussion. Crafting melody into an unsuspecting groove seems to be HRRSN’s forte, as he manages to subtly transition a wave of tension into an expansive breakdown, culminating in an array of broad, light-diffusing synths.

Up swoops through wavy, acid-tinged synth loops on a backdrop of sinewy percussion. Deft noise modulations keep the lead line interesting, as it develops into a weightless, euphoric exploration great for peak-time antics.

HRRSN – Sane [Snippet]

Johanna Knutsson’s ‘Somnis Vius’ (meaning ‘Vivid Dreams’ in Catalan) project materialised after a search for relaxing and meditative music proved fruitless, inspired to make her own selection she began to collect field recordings as she travelled. 

Comprised of natural soundscapes and forgotten gems in her record collection that she otherwise could not make use of in her usual Techno sets, the tape serves as a post-party comedown soundtrack as much as it does an aid to sleep or meditation.

Olsen's 'Nektarin 5' is a washed-out ambient house roller of the purest essence.
