Check out our fourth and final episode of our "Let Me Ascertain You: LGBTQ All Out!" podcast series. This was recorded live at the Barrow Street Theater in NY where actors performed various real people we interviewed about their experiences related to sexuality and gender. One of our special guest performers that night was Laverne Cox who stars in the TV show "Orange Is the New Black." She performs an interview we did with a staff member at Housing Works which is a NYC non-profit healing community of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. (http://www.housingworks.org/) Then Mike Brun and Alyse Louis perform "Barricade" another song by Robin Eaton and Jill Sobule from our upcoming musical “Times Square” that will feature music from Robin and Jill with book by Tony-nominated writer Jim Lewis about two teenage runaway lesbians who form an underground punk band in 1980s seedy Times Square! To close out this special podcast series, Stephen Plunkett performs an inteview he did for our show "This Beautiful City" about Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs has a number of military bases and this interview was done a number of years ago before the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell." LGBTQ All Out! Part IV

Ropey but very rare bootleg of Toyah performing a pre-Sheep Farming unreleased song in 1978 (sorry it cuts out towards the end but that's how it is on my cassette copy!). This was an early incarnation of 'Israel' later released on 'Mayhem' collectors LP, but with a different arrangement. This arrangement is the music that turned into 'Computer' released on the Sheep Farming in Barnet LP.

Sunshine 101 (Portmarnock, Dublin, 531kHz) on 16th July 1986.

One morning listening to Sunshine 101...  The record "Bang Zoom! Let's Go Go!" by The Real Roxanne was playing.  Once the song had ended the DJ played it again!  After that he took a call from a listener asking if they wanted to hear the song again.  The listener said no but he played it anyway.  I listened for at least an hour and he kept playing that record over and over.  After that I was doing other things but periodically throughout the day I kept checking every half hour or so and the station was always playing that record!  This went on until late in the evening.
At one point I made this short recording on the end of a tape.  I wish I'd recorded more but this is all I have.

At the time I had no clue what was happening but looking online today I found a few morsels of information...
The station was launching a new "Hot Hits" format and the DJ on air was Pat Courtenay.
One comment said he'd locked himself in the studio and was fired 2 weeks later.
Another comment says it started at 5pm, another says "late afternoon", another says it went on for 2 and a half hours.  It definitely started earlier than that and went on a lot longer than 2 and a half hours!
