This is an excerpt from side A of the record W.O.R.M.

W.O.R.M. was originally composed for an installation in collaboration with visual artists Sarah & Charles. Created entirely using speech-to-speech software, the album transforms a simple children’s song into surreal orchestrations with synthetic voices, blurring the line between voice and instrument.

The original song - written on acoustic guitar - tells the story of a tiny worm in search of earthly riches. As the melody mutates and deteriorates, the album explores themes of decay, identity, and the search for one’s voice in an age of vocal disembodiment.

On side B of the record, sounds were reprocessed multiple times, with the generated voices fed back into themselves 32 times, gradually distorting their original form. The result evokes what might be called artificial auditory pareidolia - the software attempting to find speech in, for example, a melodica line or an acoustic guitar phrase.

After its 2024 premiere at House of Chappaz (Valencia and Barcelona), the piece now unfolds as a standalone listening experience beyond its original installation setting.
