Bio:
Deepbass was introduced to the scene in 2009 his music is best described as deep, dark, atmospherical techno.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland. His passion for electronic music started from a young age where he would spend his weekends in record stores searching for music, he discovered artists like Speedy J and Jeff Mills who really opened his eyes to the world of techno.

He started producing music in 2008 and from there his sound evolved, always minimalistic, elements of ambient, hypnotic rhythms and deep rolling bassline's.

In 2010 he launched his label Informa Records as a platform to express himself and to explore further into his brand of deep techno.

The label is going strong has now had to opportunity to work with artists such as Modern Heads, Cio D'Or, Mark Broom, Edit Select Echologist, Ness, Hironori Takahashi, nAX_Acid and many more high quality artists.

Deepbass has had a string of releases on some great labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Aconito Records and Shapeless Records.

He has a number of live shows and Informa showcases under his belt which have taken him to Tresor - Berlin, Studio 80 - Amsterdam, Moog - Barcelona, Plunk - Moscow and a number of other clubs in city's across Europe.

Deepbass [Informa Records] UK

Darren Roberts aka Deepbass has been part of the techno scene since 2009. He has had some major releases on his own labels Informa Records & Dark Beat which have received support from everyone from Speedy J to Ben Klock to Len Faki. Earlier this year he also done two exceptional remixes of Claudio PRC & Svart 1's track Black Moon on Mono Records. Deepbass has recently joined the Rising Management team and shares a strong roster of artists together with Claudio PRC, Jeroen Search, Max M & Ness. The rest of this year looks good for the up and coming Glasgow producer with international dates confirmed and a solid string of releases lined up. Including the 2nd release on Informa Records with remixes from Modern Heads (Prologue) & Schermate (Schermate Recordings) which will be out on 12" and digital due on the 10th May."

Q/A:&#13;
1. We love your deep and atmospherical sound. Why do you choose to create techno in this way? What is the message?&#13;
This sound for me is not something I chose, I always had an element of this sound when working in the studio. &#13;
Just something about the rolling hypnotic ambient infused sounds that I love. &#13;
I feel this music is all about the atmosphere and every track takes you on a journey and tells it's own story.&#13;
&#13;
2. What kind of DJ gig do you like the most? (and yea... how was berghain?)&#13;
Usually I prefer smaller intimate venues where you have a close connection with the crowd, always helps if its a dark and dirty space.&#13;
Berghain was amazing, playing was everything I hoped and more, its true what they say there is a really special feeling in that place.&#13;
&#13;
3. Whats coming up for 2014? Both for you and informa records&#13;

Reclaim Your City 105 | Deepbass

Hello followers! For this week we share a breath of fresh air with a beautiful mix put together by Emanuele Pertoldi aka. Shaded Explorer

Emanuele Pertoldi (@emanuelepertoldi) was born in a small village in the North East of Italy. Since he was a child he had a strong passion for music and it became stronger and stronger. He took a degree in Modern Music - Music Production in Bologna. 

 Sound research, creativity and passion are the keys of his tracks.  He founded Evasion Room Records with Riccardo D'Agostini in 2011 and Evasion Room Live with Riccardo, Daniele and Andrea, a live based on improvisations only with hardware machines and synths. He is doing other projects with these guys. With Andrea as Tripsolate & Redundænt and with Riccardo as Synkät.

In 2013 he started a new alias, S/EXP (Shaded Explorer), with the aim to represent himself in a more intimate way.  The description of the project says: "S/EXP lives in a place where the music is hidden behind a dense fog and dreams are suffocated by an unpromising reality. This stimulates him to continue his research of magical places around the world, being them ethereal landscapes, deep cenotes or blue seas. In those places he discovered and created new sounds, melodies and rhythms that melted together create soundscapes for escape." The first release is an album on Eclipsemusic that was also played live by him (just with hardware) at Club To Club in Turin, one of the most representative festivals in Italy. Following this concept in 2014 he founded his own intimate imprint Shaded Explorations.

2013 was important also for another new project, Mørk, with his Berlin based friend Devincenti Francesco. The project is focused on hardware only live acts too, but with a more experimental edge than the other projects. Field recordings, modular synths and textures are the keys of this new duo.

TF #052: Reggy Van Oers [Affin Records I The Gods Planet]

Reggy Van Oers (RVO) has definitely found a sound that fits the world of techno. His trademark has become a dive into trance-inducing darkness, which can be heard on his releases, his many remixes and his track selection in general. With the experimental nature of his techno style he creates a 3 dimensional environment in his tracks, it combines melodic elements with deep hypnotizing rhythms that roll off your body and stay ever changing.

After his debut release “Metza” on Trapez Ltd in 2007 he got great feedback from out the globe. Both tracks on this EP were used in the Trapez Selection 6 mixed by Traum’s label owner Riley Reinhold aka Triple R. Soon after his debut EP he released “Matar” on Field Records that later on was licensed to Manual Music. Berghain’s resident DJ Boris, played “Matar” many times in his sets and selected it as a favourite in his all time top ten tracks.

While have been producing for several labels, most of his creative output has been released on Joachim Spieth’s imprint Affin. His music has been remixed by artists like Giorgio Gigli, Jonas Kopp, Ness, Developer, Hans Bouffmyhre and the BCR Boys.

What a set this is by Deepbass. Really glad to have had this guy on the show, he bought forward some top quality deep and rolling Techno with plenty of professional polish. If you haven't checked this guy out, your missing out.

Technical slickness, robust grooves and rich atmosphere are common traits amongst his productions and his collaborations with the likes of Ness are something to be sought after. He also runs Informa Records that hosts some high quality tunes from the likes of Mark Broom and Edit Select.

NESS - Italy

Ness became interested in electronic music in the late 90's. Few years later he started djing, taking inspiration from various genres going from trance to pure experimentation. The interest in music led him to attend various courses as audio engineer or the conservatory of his hometown in Italy for some years. The need to express himself through music led him to experiment and research, the result in recent years that reflects better his music is increasingly focused on the atmosphere that is intertwined with a hypnotic rhythm.Since 2009 he founded his own label Mono Records that take the name from his own record store where he used to work since 2007 with his friend Bettosun; and releases music in labels such as Prologue, Synewave, Dynamic Reflection, Informa Records and M_REC LTD. The experience gained through the years leads to define his DJ sets that are characterized by a strong array of Techno and House at the same time.

NAX ACID - Italy

Nax Acid aka Andrea Ruffino, born in 1982, started playing electronic music when he was 17, after hearing classic early Aphex Twin albums. Since then he started collecting vinyl and playing every kind of electronic music from hardcore to electro, from drum & bass to techno. In 2004 he started making deep minimal, acid and Detroit techno influenced tracks. In 2005 moved to London from his native Italy and started to work for ‘disappear here’ record label (Kompakt) started by Chris Spero and Antony Sergeant. His first release in December 2006, “Friends & Crocodiles” which was well received on the underground London techno scene. Since 2007 he has started to put together his own label project called Aconito Records. "The label is a sonic experiment with techno, minimal and with ambient and electronica, to create a new atmospheric techno voyage, which also works on the dance floor".
Andrej Naxovich _Andrej Naxovich is a side project of the Italian Dj/Producer Andrea Ruffino aka nAX_acid. The project rise to discover new way of creating and composing sounds. The aim is to experiment and push to the limit the sound and create new sonic shapes of sound and music. The project is not defined by a specific genre but to range in all modern experimental and electroacoustic genres, from minimalism to ambient. It also includes an investigation in sound contextualizing among space (real and virtual), structure and time, to go against the stativity of modern and contemporary music and try to create a “new sonic environment”.

Dark Beat Factory #041 - Nax Acid - Ness - Deepbass - El Grego

After a couple of remarkable podcasts by veteran techno stalwarts, Episode 36 comes from young and talented producer, DEEPBASS. His name fittingly represents the essence and rhythm of this 1-hour techno hecatomb and includes a stellar tracklist with brand new material, as he says: <i>“from myself, my friends, and some artists I'm loving at the moment, and some older stuff for good measure, a good example of the kind of stuff I play in my live shows.”</i>
 
Darren has been busy in the studio, recently releasing the Analysis EP on Aconito Records (which is superb and in this mix) along with another EP on his own label, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/InformaRecords">Informa Records</a> (INFORMA006), with an original track by his friend Hironori Takahashi, a remix by Deepbass, and a still-undisclosed guest remixer. Also due on Informa will be a yet-to-be-announced Deepbass collaborative project. In addition, Darren has remixes coming out for Bleak on the new Glasgow-based label, Animal Farm Records, as well as for Lui Urbano on Ketra Records. And he is finalizing, as we speak, the 3rd Deepbass & Ness collaboration.
