The Noonas are back again with a special guest this week! Friend of the show (and MIDZY) Chris Brown joins us as we have another crazy week of Kpop news, album review and whatever the hell went down these last few weeks on Kingdom: Legendary War. First we dive into some breaking news when we recorded regarding a big deal between SM Entertainment and MGM Television regarding a new U.S.-based Kpop group and possible survival show that may come from it, and a new NCT subunit?! Then we get to ITZY’s new mini album “Guess Who?” and their criminally good track “(Mafia) In the Morning.” And then Jenni tries to not to cause anarchy as we discuss the round 2 performances and results on “Kingdom: Legendary War.” Tune in to find out why she nearly threw her computer out the window (yeah, it might be Ateez-related).

Episode 27-Anarchy in the Kingdom

The Noonas are back with a doozy of an episode and a debut to review! But before they tackle that, they do have a few news items to cover, first the lineup of Queendom Season 2 being announced and the news of a long-time K-pop group calling it quits after nearly 10 years on the scene. Then strap in as they get through these album reviews, first starting with the first album in 4 years to feature all the members of BTOB as they serenade us with ‘The Song’ off their latest, “Be Together;” as well as the girls of STAYC making another impressive comeback in the Noonas eyes with ‘RUN2U’ off of their latest album, “YOUNG-LUV.COM.” Then the Noonas try to decipher exactly why JYP’s newest girl group NMIXX is facing a ton of backlash (including plagiarism allegations by other fandoms) as we sit through their, uh, interesting debut ‘O.O’ off of “Ad Mare,” before the Noonas take a quick sidebar to talk about some plagiarism allegations regarding Soyeon of G(I)-DLE and figure out how the pirates of Ateez ended up pirated (it makes sense, believe us)! Finally we wrap up this week’s reviews with another debut (postponed due to COVID-19) from Tempest as hopefully they don’t deliver ‘Bad News’ off their debut album “It’s Me, It’s We,” as well as the first solo album since his military enlistment from former B.A.P. leader Bang Yongguk with his newest album “2.” Tune in!

Episode 44: O.O (No, This is Literally our Reaction…)

The Noonas are back and playing some quick catch-up before some big album releases head our way! But that doesn’t mean these albums aren’t good as well! But first (in kind of no duh news) BTS is performing at the Grammys and we talk a bit about our expectations at this year’s show. Then we get into the five reviews this week, first starting with G(I)-DLE’s long awaited comeback as a group of five and some edge with ‘Tomboy’ and their newest album, “I Never Die.” Then the ultimate comeback queens themselves Brave Girls are here to wish their fans ‘Thank You’ with their latest release of the same name. We say goodbye to NU’EST after 10 years together with their final release as a group with their compilation album “The Best Album: Needle & Bubble.” Then we got two solo releases this week, first the first solo album release from Monsta X vocalist Kihyun with “Voyager,” and our final review of the week with Mamamoo’s Solar with her latest solo album “Face.”

The Noonas are back again, this time with a special guest to help get through this odd-inary week of reviews and news! First, we welcome our special guest this week, Rae, who’s a huge kpop multistan as we discuss our opinions on the upcoming Grammys as news broke that some of the members of BTS got Covid! Then buckle up for some kpop multi craziness as we review six(!) major releases this episode!

First the three of us get a little ‘Maniac’ as we understand how Stray Kids got a little “Odd-inary” with their latest mini album. Red Velvet wants us to “Feel My Rhythm” as we get a bit creeped out in the bizarre and artsy side of things, before Cravity brings the ‘Adrenaline’ with their newest album “Liberty in our Cosmos.” Then we get excited for what’s approaching for Verivery as they tease with another single album release with “Series O Round 0 Who,” before NCT Dream “Glitch Mode”(s) our brains with their second full album. And we wrap up the week wondering what the heck a “MemeM” is, and hopefully Purple Kiss can solve that for us! Tune in!

Episode 46: We're All a Little Odd-inary Here

The Noonas are back and finally here to talk about the Grammys (sorry again, Jenni got lost in the Borhavegas lights). We talk about the “biggest night in music” in regards to BTS, from the red carpet to their show-stopping performance of ‘Butter,’ to, well, what we figured the result was going to be for their lone award nomination. At least Army got 4 Vegas concerts out of this?

Then settle in as have six more releases from the kpop world coming at you this week as we catch up on all things. We help (sorely underrated) 4th generation group Kingdom work towards their ‘Ascension’ as their latest album “History of Kingdom Pt. IV: Dann” arrives after a short Covid delay. Then we enjoy the latest solo ventures from two members of GOT7, Jackson Wang who really wants us to “Blow,” and Yugyeom who’s about to “Take You Down” (interpret that however you want). We get another solo release this week from the oldest EXO member Suho as he serenades us in a “Grey Suit.” Big Bang also arrives on the scene, potentially for one last time as they drop their first release in over 5 years with ‘Still Life.’ And we wrap up the week with powerhouse girl group rookies IVE taking us on a ‘Love Dive.’ You don’t want to miss it!

Episode 47: Ascending into Boravegas

The Noonas are back once again with a special guest and a jam-packed episode! Our good friend Chris Brown is back on the show again on the show to join us for music reviews! But before we get into the multiple massive reviews, Jenni relieves her crazy weekend in Las Vegas seeing BTS on their Permission to Dance tour and other Vegas shenanigans, before both Ginny and Jenni gush about how the Kpop multistans were fed over the Easter weekend between both BTS’ big announcement at the end of their tour as well as some big Kpop performances at Coachella from Epik High, Jackson Wang and CL, with a special cameo performance of 2NE1. Then Chris hops in and helps out the girls as we dig into these many reviews this week, starting with a solo release from SHINee’s Onew rolling the “Dice” on his second mini album. Then we get into our teenage feelings with an ‘Anthem of Teen Spirit’ from Epex’s newest release “Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 1: 21st Century Boys.” Dreamcatcher takes us to the apocalypse and back with their newest release, “Apocalypse: Save Us” and their latest title track ‘Maison,’ before we ‘Zoom’ in on a new single from hip-hop queen Jessi. Jenni gushes about her newest kpop obsession with 4th generation group Just B as they ‘Re-load’ with their newest mini album, “Just Begin.” And we wrap up the week with a ‘Darl+ing’ new English track from Seventeen in preparation for a new album coming later this month! Tune in!

Noonas’ Note: This recording was made before we became aware of the whole clarification by C9 Entertainment. Their intentions for the concept was more inspiring by George Orwell’s “1984,” where they incorporate the elements of dystopian, oppressive authority unto the current events of South Korean youths and their education system. We commend the label’s efforts in owning up to the misunderstanding and outrage they did not mean to cause, and going so far to revise the lyrics and re-record the song.

Episode 48: Save Us from Boravegas

The Noonas are back (better late than never!) with a MASSIVE episode this week! Buckle up, cause this one is really gonna be a doozy! We welcome another oppa into our midsts this week with our good friend Andrew Stedl hopping in with album reviews this week–due to scheduling conflicts he couldn’t join us for our live recording, but we hope to have him on with us together soon! But we have 10, yes 10 albums to get to this week, so let’s dive on in. We start off things with an OST release from truly independent (and openly out) artist Holland with “Ocean Like Me,” as well as talk about his unfortunate attack out on the streets of Iteawon. Moving on we go ‘Undercover’ with Verivery as they continue with their latest album “Series O Round 3: Whole,” before understanding the “Shape of Love” with Monsta X’s latest EP and it’s title track, ‘Love.’ Then we ‘Roar’ into our next review with 4th gen group E’last’s newest offering, “Creature,” before Moonbyul of Mamamoo teaches us how to get a man in her newest single, ‘CITT (Cheese in the Trap).’ We welcome back kpop legend Psy with his first album in five years as he brings us “Psy 9th” and its title track ‘That That (feat. and prod. by Suga of BTS)’. Our kpop debut this week comes from the new girl group Le Sserafim, showing us how to be “Fearless.” iKon makes a splash back onto the scene with their newest album, “Flashback,” with their title track, ‘But You,’ while soloist Woodz gets in touch with his emo side, literally, with ‘I Hate You’ from his newest EP “Colorful Trauma.” And finally, Tomorrow x Together are ‘Good Boy(s) Gone Bad’ with their newest EP, “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child.”

Episode 49: That That’s So 2000s-Flashback Era

The Noonas are back with their 50th episode! Major shoutout to Cedric Ferrill for that cold open on this week’s episode!

But yes, we are back, with what has to be one of the biggest kpop scandals to hit a debut group in a long long time. Yes, we try to get down and dissect the whole mess that is the Kim Garam bullying scandal and the impact it’s having on Le Sserafim’s debut. Believe us, this one is a mud-slinging fest that’s airing out a lot of dirty laundry.

This week’s album reviews, however, should help brighten up the day at least! First we get “Deep” with SNSD’s Hyo and her EDM beats with her first EP, which is more of a collection of all of her singles to this date. Then we blast off with Astro as we “Drive on the Starry Road,” their 3rd album, and the sugary sweetness of ‘Candy Sugar Pop.’ Our long-awaited debut this week comes from P Nation, as TNX shows us their ‘Move(s)’ with their debut EP, “Way Up.” OneUs tells us to ‘Bring It On’ with their brand new EP, “Trickster,” while GOT7 makes their triumphant return as away from JYP Entertainment with their self titled EP. Then soloist Kang Daniel tells us “The Story” with his first full album, figuring out what’s ‘Upside Down,’ before we wrap up the week to “Face the Sun” and getting ‘Hot’ with Seventeen. Tune in!
