This is my mix I played at my 1st ever set hosted by subverse events @ basement45 down in Bristol, absolutely smashed it, gassed with how I played at the event and how much the crowed loved it. But this mix I’m posting was recorded 3 months after I played so it is not a live recording. When playing this live I also had the goat Kaisan T on mic duty’s 🖤

First time mixing on Denon DJ decks so had to get used to them, a few mishaps such as tunes not being exported correctly and dodgy beat grids etc. So I took it back to the roots of the mix n blend! In style! Authentic!

NOORCOTICS:

NOOR: This part of the name is inspired by the Persian/Arabic name "Noor" (which is also my surname shortened) which means "light" or "brightness". It could also be interpreted as "noir" meaning "black" in French, which suggest a contrast or combination of light and dark elements.

COTICS: This suffix doesn't seem to have a direct meaning, but is a play on the word "narcotics”, which refers to drugs. It suggest something potent, addictive, or intoxicating in the context of music.

Combining these parts, NOORCOTICS can be interpreted as a juxtaposition of light and dark or as something bright and captivating with an edge or hint of intensity, similar to the effects of narcotics but in a musical context.
