Another SID chip tune created with SidTracker64 on the iPad. 

This time, I wanted to try to create a track that didn't have a typical SID sound. So, I started it with a typical SID sound, just so I could tell how "not-SID" the track was going later on.
I also stumbled across a nice Martin Galway / Arkanoid sound during writing this one. The difference being that Arkanoid used samples to create the sound, where as I used a standard SID channel. Anyway, I put a bit of Arkanoid in this track, just to show my respect to Martin and his amazing music. 
Again, as with the previous tracks, this is a standard SID file. 3 channels. Exported, normalized and uploaded to SoundCloud.

FIFTH

A port to SID of the Amiga's in-game music of Hybris. Written using SIDTracker64 on the iPad.

The Amiga game already sounded like a SID tune, but with sampled drums. So, I took it back to the SID. Not sure if the original Amiga version used 4 channels, but it seemed to port over to 3 quite easily.

Swapping constantly between YouTube (to listen to the original Amiga version) and SIDTracker64 (to write the music) was a bit of a pain!!

HYBRIS - "C64"....

To celebrate the Amiga's 30th Birthday, I've converted the classic Turrican title music (by the amazing Chris Huelsbeck) to SID (c64)

TURRICAN Amiga Title on SID

To celebrate 30 years since the original classic, I've remixed the Sanxion C64 music - using nothing but a single SID (the same hardware as the original track was written with)

This involved an initial stage of recreating the whole track in SIDTracker64 (patterns and instruments), before I could then remix it.

An album of Rob Hubbard C64 SID ChipTune music, reconstructed in full stereo, using tools and techniques developed by myself (Jason Page - No Other Medicine).

This is likely my last project related to the great Rob Hubbard. I've been lucky enough to actually work along side Rob on the Project Hubbard KickStarter. This is my gift back to him.

Rather than join the hoards of remixes, I thought what was needed to get inside Rob's work and give it what it never really had: a sense of space
The technique of creating "True Stereo" versions of SID chip music aims to simply further highlight the pure brilliance of the original tracks.

As such, I highly recommend that you listen using headphones or stereo speakers. Sit back and hear the originals as you've never heard them before.

Reconstructed - Rob Hubbard in TrueStereo

LightForce by Rob Hubbard - True Stereo
Reconstructed in full stereo, using tools and techniques developed by myself (Jason Page - No Other Medicine).

I've used a bit more reverb and delay than I usually use when creating True Stereo versions. This song doesn't really use a lot of the traditional "blips and blops" that Rob's tracks normally contain. As such, it offered less opportunities for creating space with panning. The reverb and delay helped define this one a little more.. However, as it was the only track that I added effects to, I didn't want to include it in the Reconstructed album
