Am 24. Mai 2017 kommt die zweite Katalognummer des noch jungen Labels @niewiederschlafen raus. Schöpfer von „Anything Else“ ist @himbrecht, ein rumänischer Produzent. „Die EP hat ihren Ursprung daher, als ich vor einiger Zeit jemanden gedatet habe“, erklärt der Musiker, „mein Herz und Verstand waren dann die Ideengeber für den Track „Anything Else“.“ Er könne nicht wirklich erklären, wie der Schaffungsprozess dann von statten ging: „Alles geschah auf einem sehr natürlichen Weg. Die gedatete Frau ist immer noch glücklich, und wir heiraten auch bald!“ (...) Also kam es nun zum Release, der von zwei Remixen unterstützt wird. „Auf @poesiemusik habe ich schon mehrere EPs und Remixes gemacht, daher war der Kontakt stetig da“, erzählt @jonas-woehl. Mit „Nordhavn“ bringt der Dresdner nun eine weitere EP auf dem Berliner Imprint raus. „Das Label kam vor ein paar Monaten auf mich zu und fragte, ob wir wieder einmal gemeinsam eine EP machen wollen. It was nearly a year ago when these two graced with their hugely successful track ‘Hope’ on our ‘Watergate XV’ various artist compilation. Matthias Meyer and Ryan Davis come together again to deliver the stunning ‘Love Letters From Sicily’ where infectious organic grooves pave the way for a flourishing well of emotions in the form of lush pads and shimmering sonics that unfold into a tale of epic cinematic proportions. From start to finish it’s a intimate piece of aural imagery, yet the duo always keep a keen percussive focus making it ideal for any dancefloor moment. 

To complement ‘Love Letters from Sicily’, we’ve enlisted the one and only John Digweed to rework Meyer and Davis’ original of ‘Hope’, and with no surprise, he’s given it the master’s touch. Staying true to the original, while at the same time reinventing the storyline and constructing tension by saving the powerful harmonies for a later climax, he’s crafted a revision that’s both driving and timeless.
