I have loved Richie Hawtin's, Plastikman Remix of La Funk Mob's track, 'Motorbass Get Phunked Up' since it was first released in 1995.  I have always wanted to pair it with something but I could never find the perfect track and there have been quite a few failed attempts.  I was watching the show, DEVS and I heard this haunting song called 'Congregation' by a band called, LOW.  It was roughly the same tempo and both tracks seemed to match up quite well.  I added synths, percussion, loops and effects to create a track that takes on a 'Massive Attack' vibe.

The London-based Danish artist CÉCI recently stepped onto the scene with a string of ethereal, experimental pop tunes. The good folks from Hush Hush Records are gearing up for the release of a CÉCI remix EP this February, featuring contributions by Kastle, Chants, Ca$h Bandicoot and RBMA alum Kid Smpl. We’re happy to premiere the latter’s take right here, which is bathed in the fractured, emotive soundscapes that have become characteristic of Kid Smpl’s reliably great output.

CÉCI’s ‘RMX’ EP is out February 24th via Hush Hush Records.

Shying away from the more recent dancefloor material he’s known for, these compositions explore Nordic Soul’s love of hip hop, dub and ambient music. Recorded and reworked during the extended winter and spring months in the Pacific Northwest, “Grey Spring” is a somber and introspective soundtrack that should resonate well with fans of Boards of Canada, Ulrich Schnauss and Lusine.

Following the success of his recent Kompakt single "Somewhere," John Tejada returns to his own Palette Recordings imprint with "Anaphora." After a series of collaborative projects with fellow artists, Tejada distinguishes "Anaphora" as his first solo release on Palette since 2009 and presents a double headliner of his trademark musicality and driving rhythms, delivering a set of two eruptive grooves with a focus that has earned Tejada the respect of both listeners and peers alike.
"Anaphora" continues where John's 2006 smash "The End Of It All" left off, showcasing Tejada's trademark use of hopeful melodies and emotive sequences. It highlights his undeniable quality of crafting arrangements that rise above monotony.
Continuing where Tejada's "Mono On Mono" and "Eurotunnel" left off, "Bode's law" explores a darker, more driving side of the two songs. Furious analog synths and drums orbit each other in syncopation to create an engaging rhythm that is hypnotic and inspiring.
