BACKGROUND: One of my best friends sent me a list of chill songs and asked if I could mash them together into a mix. I knew it would be a challenge with the bpms, but I decided to give it a shot anyway.

A lot of these songs were created by the very talented producer Cookin Soul. I could hear how his sound is heavily influenced by J-Dilla so it seemed right to blend their songs together for this set.

I honestly don’t even know what genre to label this set as. It’s a mix of lo-fi, future house, r&b, and hip hop instrumentals.

Finally, because this is a collab with my best friend, I decided to name it after the street we grew up on, Silver View Lane. Enjoy the music

Nite and Day - Al B. Sure! (Chris Moore Edit)

Flew down to Tulum to play a sunset house set at Gitano Beach. I spent weeks curating the playlist for this DJ set. I searched deep into Soundcloud, through NYC record shops, and took recommendations from friends to construct a unique sound experience. I had a few errors with the usb so not every transition is perfect, but I hope you guys still vibe out. Enjoy

The idea for this song originally started as a remix of 7 days by Craig David. I chopped the instrumental and laid down my own 808 pattern. Then I came across the acapella for Rock The Boat and played it on repeat for almost an hour. Aaliyah's voice was so pure. I decided not to alter her vocals. Instead, I simply chopped and arranged them to compliment the original 7 days remix I was working on.

FLARE (House Freestyle Set)

My friend showed me this track Step In by Loure and immediately I thought it needed Kendrick's signature vocals and flow on top. The trumpets and the overall vibe remind me of the instrumentals from his album Good Kid, M.a.a.d City.
Originally, I started the project with the intention of a simple mashup, but instead I automated and processed the house song to leave room for Kendrick's most powerful lyrics. 
I still refer to it as a mashup in the title because I don't feel like I changed either track enough to consider it an edit. Also, SEO is important these days lol

STEP IN X N95 (Chris Moore Mashup) Loure X Kendrick Lamar

I wanted to pay tribute to one of my all time favorite songs by The Weeknd. I love how in the original version, he broke down the typical structure of an R&B song and made his own rules for how the track should play out.
I approached the production of this remix with the same spirit. I only included sound elements that felt right versus trying to follow the typical blueprint of a house song. Ultimately, I managed to incorporate all of my favorite samples from the original (narrowing them was a challenge). You'll hear how The Beach House loop and The Weeknd's soulful vocals all play nicely together over the punchy percussion that I tapped out on my drum pad. 
For the icing on the cake, I looped a sample from a video I filmed of a river flowing while hiking through Yosemite this past summer. I let the river ride under the entire song to add a natural vinyl like texture to the track.

Scrambled this mix togehter last minute before a roadtrip to Upstate New York. Not my cleanest work, but this definitely sums up where my sound is at the moment. A mix of afro house remixes, no super deep cuts (yet), house edits that I've produced, and a dash of UK Garage.

This mix is another sequel in my "Jungle" music series that highlights the afro and tribal elements of house music. My collection of these sounds doubled as I prepared for my DJ sets in Mexico. Jungle Rhythm 5 portrays how my vibe currently sounds when I play live sets. I primarily feature tribal sounds, but I still have a great a appreciation for UK breakbeats, melodic tech house, and of course R&B. This mix fuses all of these genres together. Enjoy!

I produced this track while being rained inside during my surf trip to Mexico.

The idea for this song started with just a simple Toni Braxton sample and synth loop from Splice. 

I had been working on an afro-house edit for weeks so it was refreshing to hear this synth and go in a completely direction.

CONTENT DAY | CHRIS MOORE AFRO HOUSE SET 12.15.24

I love blurring the lines between house music, hip-hop, and R&B. While they occasionally share similar characteristics, people often write off one genre in favor of another. While listening to the intro of Like You, I noticed it featured synths that caught my ear. Inspired, I looped them and sped up the tempo to bring this familiar R&B track into the realm of house music. From there, I kept things simple—adding just a few more percussion elements and another vocal loop.
