with the closing of craft & social quickly approaching, this was bitter sweet. that place will always have a special place in my heart. it was the first gig that I caught by sticking my neck out and betting on myself. going downtown always gives me chills, I love that I feel the energy down there. the heartbeat of the city is there, craft & social gave me an outlet to play what I wanted and how I wanted to play it. I was blessed to partake in the space they provided, in that 100 yr old building. I'm hoping to get back there one more time before it closes, if not, such is life. I played as if it were going to be my last time there. it was raw, it was risky in some spots. as a dj we have to play for the crowd in front of us, but not this night, this night was about me. I left a piece of my heart at their front door. I stopped playing with about 45 min to go and played a mix so I could sit and watch the people pass by, the cars stroll by, and sit outside on a breezy night to look at the architecture around me. I took it all in. I took in the sounds of taps opening, glasses chattering as they went into the sink, and I just looked around and felt absolutely grateful for the moment and all the previous moments spent there. this all seems like word salad but I'm just writing what comes to mind. lets see if I get just one more time to go back, the tear ducts are getting to work or there's something in my eye. either way, thanks guys, I love you all, we made great friendships and it was a hell of time.
