These are such a joy to listen to. So well-sung and tightly produced.

On the 11th April 1973, we commenced broadcasting Radio Veronica's programs from the Mi Amigo, whilst they were beached. Although many shows were taped, some were missing due to the short notice, also we had no commercials or jingles on cart yet. At 1500 we had no tape and so did a live show with Tom Collins & Freek Simon, with me at the desk and choosing the music. They ad lib some commercials, and the music I played was very much Caroline. Also some generic jingles. The boat was rocking badly and I was sliding around on my chair trying to stay in front of the mixer, whilst hanging on to the slip mats of cued records. Tom & Freek were falling around the studio trying to stand in front of the one microphone. No one thought of taking a single photo during the whole unique week, so recordings are all that remain of that extraordinary radio event.

Since my time on Caroline in 1973, I have had many personal IDs made for me. Including voice-overs by Robin Adcroft, Tony Allen, Steve England and his dad!, Mike Hagler, Brian Anderson & Johnny Walker. Jingle resings we made by KenR, Jam, KGJ, Ben Freedman, including JAM Acapellas, PAMS, Gwinsound and Pepper Tanner tracks. Following my offshore period, I appeared on an annual RSL in Peterhead called Waves-AM. We were granted a full license in 1998 for Waves-FM. Later I made programmes and production for Radio Seagull. In addition to my on air cuts, I also had numerous made just for fun, in particular Ken R Deutsch, Ken Justiss and Ben Freedman, all three of which I ran their online websites, and got these all gratis. You may hear what sounds like duplication of some cuts, but in fact I had several resung over the years. Here is 50 years worth of my own cuts, I call it my EGO MIX ;-)

From the early pirates to the start of Radio One, this was the golden age of Radio Jingles. Here is a selection as heard in the UK from 1965 to 1975, on Radio London (16, 17, 18, 26d &31, Radio England 27 and Radio One 31, 32, 33 34, 40, 41 43 and others. 

After each cut, we hear a version from elsewhere in the world for comparison. Radio One started with PAMS then Pepper Tanner (Now Sound & It's What's Happening) then Audio Producers, and then back to PAMS. 

I accidentally placed the Audio Producers (1969) material before Pepper Tanner (1968) in my montage, but it is a minor detour!

This montage covers the period up until the BBC went to JAM, This I shall publish shortly, along with a similar selection for Britain Radio and Radio Two
