Impeccable and unseen Italian-infused LP from afar. A big favorite.

The late '70s sleaze-funk-inspired title track spins a love story with an outer space being. It strongly recalls the best RAH BAND moments, featuring wistful orchestral progressions and a male/female vocal duet, in a cosmic fashion.

The other highlight on this album is this beautiful instrumental piece, recalling the '60s French bossa wave blossoming with Saravah.

This privately released LP was sitting behind the generic Pop/Rock tag before it unleashes its full potential - fronted female vocal, breezy DX7, Sade'ish basslines, fake reggae patterns... up to some more cosmic moments.

For us, Norm is the ultimate definition of a selector, and many in the community will agree. Needless to say, we were incredibly excited when he joined TNP as a resident. His new show “Faking Jazz Together” is an excellent addition to his other projects, which include(d) Memorabilia, Bayetë and Native Dance.

Norm’s ability to unearth the warmest, sweetest and deepest sounds is unprecedented. The first installment of his residency stole our hearts: a jaw dropping, incredible selection of lush music that we didn’t know we needed to hear. We recommend you to listen to this one eyes closed, shoes off, laying in the sun. 

Words from Norm: “This opening Faking Jazz Together show connects the dots between songs cleverly juggling with chords voicing and offbeat progressions. Spanning from major studios productions, One-Hit-Wonders and confidential amateur acts, these titles share a charming perspective of these codes while treasuring a genuine song writing. 

This is my fantasized outtake of what could have been a local fusion jazz program back then. It features biting AOR, hazy Chanson, fierce Boogie, Japanese Bossa impersonation and wistful Italian score.”

Tunesday Recordings proudly presents its third release, bringing the two balearic pop originals "Brazilian Breeze" and "Mysterious Nights" from the sought-after 1986 LP "Leaving You" by Preludio to today's dance floors. The Italo-influenced songs mark the very first work of Peter LaSalle who has made a name for himself with several releases under the moniker Sound Surgeons in the 2000's.

As a first endeavour under the moniker DNA (standing for Danny, Norm & Andres), the trio centered around Andres Astorga aka Trujillo brings out their own vsionary reworks with nothing but the songs' titles as inspiration. On "Brazilian Breeze", they dive deep into an ocean-blue rippling with cool synthesizer sequences and steel drums. "Mysterious Nights" teases you into a Linn Drum-driven adventure in which hazy waves mingle with late 80's guitar licks and soothing brasses.

Many thanks to Peter LaSalle for making this reissue possible and many thanks to Santi Oviedo for literally revising the original artwork.

"Following up on our first shared endeavor, “Magic Jive” (2020), we are thrilled to continue this journey and introduce you to our first cassette mix, “Matamoros”.

We strived to seamlessly transition from where our previous mix left off, with the former ending “Late Summer Night” echoing at the very beginning of the recording. You will find here a collection of songs that have serenaded our lives over the past three years, mostly re-edited to make them coexist flawlessly.

On Side A “Onda”, you will listen to a light contemplative sailing soundtrack whilst Side B “Costa” depicts what would be our dream setting for a night at a resort park discotheque."

I threw the dice on the stunning DIY sleeve of this LP a while back and discovered an interesting patchwork of lo-fi productions. This album genuinely blends late 80's FM synthesis with soft guitar licks and gentle top lines.

My favorite excerpt is this cute loving pledge, but the LP has much more to offer.
