This song is a collaboration with a long-time friend, Rod Curtis. I did all of the music and Rod did all of the vocals and lyrics. Rod is a very talented singer and multi-instrumentalist who was part of the Hollywood strip scene in the 70’s and 80’s, playing Gazzarris, the Starwood and the Troubador. He was a member of Stratus, The Thunderbirds and Suva and opened for Quiet Riot and Motley Crue back in the day. His current bands on Soundcloud are Brains Day Off and MindSauce.

From standing with a phone in your hand and realizing that even love can hesitate when fear and uncertainty take over.

As a parent, there is something deeply wrong about not knowing whether to send a Christmas gift. 
That question alone carries shame, longing, hope, and heartbreak all at once.

It is written for my daughter, from a place where memories are still warm but no longer speak. 
From wondering who she is today, what life has given her, and what it may have taken.

At first, I was quite confident we'd finish quickly.

Manfred contributed all the guitar parts and vocals with his usual perfection.

And yet, it turned out to be a real challenge.

...so many keyboards and effects... Synchronizing everything rhythmically proved difficult. Giving up wasn't an option, so we gritted our teeth and persevered.

And so, after a few days (actually, considerably more), we present our version.
