Overnight scouting trip to the Blueberry Bog in Mt. Hood National Forest.  

The second knock of the night, and by far the closest.  The other, just 18 minutes prior, was further to the north.

This moan was recorded in Stanislaus National Forest in June of 2005.

Shortly after Bobo and I left our camp, my recorder (which was left running in camp) recorded this whistle, followed by a knock 40 seconds later.  I edited out the 40 seconds for the sake of brevity.

Recorded near the Clackamas River in Oregon, this whistle happened a short while after knocks were heard from a nearby ravine.
