Sound Transitions is elated to bring you a hefty slab of rapid fire electro and techno goodness from none other than DJ Panthr (AKA Akasha System). Source Drift EP is scheduled for release January 20th Out Now. and we couldn't be happier. With its three deep originals backed with three inventive remixes from heavy hitters Roaming Data, Deeprhythms, and Alien House, this is an EP that will absolutely stand the test of time and find a welcome home on any dance floor.

DJ Panthr takes you on a journey from otherworldly electro to emotive, pad-filled techno to deep, spacious house. The remixers turn the already excellent originals into something wildly new and different. Roaming Data ups the tempo of the title track while still keeping things razor sharp. Deeprhythms sets the mood with a wavy, eyes closed, hands in the air blast of euphoria while Alien House melts things down to a smooth outsider house interpretation of "Liquid Light."

We started collecting tracks at the beginning of 2021 and after a surprisingly busy summer and some wild reactions testing them out on unsuspecting Berliners, we are finally delighted to say that they will drop on January 31st. Not only will they be available digitally via Bandcamp, but we will also be offering them on a limited edition USB Stick, which will be the final in our series of engraved thumbdrives. For those who have been asking us to reissue the Ghettoraid Vol. 1 USB, this is your chance to get what you need as we will be bundling all the tracks from the original release with the stick in addition to the new remixes and some spicy bonus content of course."

➔ About the Track
Originally a flip on a random Rhodes sample I downloaded from YouTube, I haven't been able to locate the video ever since. Started August 2023.
The main rhodes in the drop is duplicated and pitched up an octave, with volume automation, giving it this guitar-like tonality. One of my favourite sound design technique since, which I've reused in tracks such as Sirens (never released but iykyk).
The vocal is made using Synthesizer V, with this being my first experience with lyrics, up until my remix of Bad Seed for YOKAI's album. I wanted a deep voice, similar to that of DRS which I was (and am still) addicted to. Unfortunately not quite what I envisioned but it worked.

Collection of Liquid Drum & Bass works from 2021~2024.
This album is a testament to almost 4 years of producing, while still not finding what I truly enjoy making. Perhaps, one could say I'm lost. But at the same time, I've been lost forever yet I've never felt like it was truly a problem. So Let's hope the next few years are equally filled with both ups and downs - I think this is what makes my life so interesting.
Liquid DnB has been a great genre to produce over the years, with inspiration by Makoto, LSB, Harry Shotta, and many more. While being a genre I sometimes consider as 'lazy' or 'uninspired', I still think it's one of the widest subgenres of drum & bass, considering the range of instruments---both synthetic and acoustic---which can be used.

The cover artwork and video visuals are a love letter to my magnificent country and region - the French Alps, and showcase something I really enjoy: taking deep breaths outside through driving, hiking or cycling. The photo was taken in 2023 during a bivouac and is the westside of Taillefer from the Plateau des Lacs, and various videos were taken from 2021 to today on various trips and hikes, by car, foot or bicycle.
