Songs Of April - Recap

Three short beeps, three long beeps and three short beeps again, is the morsing code for SOS. We enter February with singing into transmission in only a couple of minutes, the zerspannungs- modulator is all turned up in the warehouse in Utrecht, where the morsing code arrives like a prophecy, and is human like us. We throw our desperate wish into the universe in the hopes that we’ll be heard and helped. Everyone needs a base, a home, a safe place where they can rest, thrive and reload their battery. In a fair society, perhaps matriarch, this would be a human right. I wish for capitalism to be destroyed by aliens. I wish to dismantle the power of all leaders in this world. I’d send them to the warehouse and with music reprogram their mind to peace, love and harmony.

Hello again, it's me again, how are you? Well, you can start relaxing now, this episode will hug you with a dubby feeling and calm you with bird song. Did you know that bird song has been proven to be one of the most calming sounds. It signals safe surroundings and peace. What you can't get in the real world you must seek to experience else where, but look no further, you've come to the right place. Grab your hammock and allow yourself to surrender to tender dubby sounds. We start off with bird song recorded onto reel to reel, then slowed down so the human ear can hear the melodies hidden in the natural fast chirps. Greetings and welcome!

We enter this episode through an underpass and discover that early electro music often thrived in a duo constellation. You’ll hear about the phenomenon dopplereffekt and we go from here to eternity with an italian flavour. We get around the 80s in black and white with a moody attitude. We zoom in on the liner notes of a particular album where the lead singer is credited with "wiplashes" among vocals and a particular synth that can take us to the universe. We’ll dig up some Swiss new wave that is too cool for school. And finally we'll meet an Indian artist who made a revolutionary album with the TB-303 and other space gear. The electricity is omnidirectional and the energy is building up. When did music become electric? Are humans electric? We are definitely curious and creative beings. We start out this episode with a fanfare on a rare instrument, built before the synthesizers fell down from the sky. I think we still need time away from the hamster wheel, so let's make a sacrificial dance and with our bare hands draw while half asleep. We're not leaving until we get a clearing that the battery is fully loaded. Oh and did I mention that I won a neurodivergent gold medal? Well it's true. Let's dive into the smooth vinyl grooves and listen up close to the needle making crackles and noises, like silberfisch whispering into a U47, that finally came out of the closet and captured the world.

We visit the cult of Isis – an Egyptian goddess of woman power. Keywords, as we go along, are Transformation and Transition. Two words that Trans people understand in depth. We enter shiva's dance into a spiral dance, and under the blue veil, the daydreams are thriving. What is soundless sound, and where to get it? Escapism is an artform for poor people. Autumn is colorful and so is the music in this episode. I picked out some beauties and oddities, some with radical stories even. We're going back a bit to dig out some early electronica endeavours, like the invention of a machine that let's you draw the sound. We meet two nuns making a DIY album bathed in delays. Also looking into a Goddess' eyes. We're in limbo for a bit, but Venezuela taps us in again and we get new directions to a sparkling world over the horizon. On a far away planet they invent new sounds. There's a lot of treats for those insterested in production and those enjoying the quirky, out of frame styles.
