Kato - Spirited Away (One Summer's Day)

I wish I could go back to be that child again, full of enthusiasm, hope and wonder. Our days were filled with laughs playing with friends online, and watching our favourite Minecraft youtubers. We went to sleep thinking what we could do in our servers the days to come. Will we build a fortress? Will we fight the ender dragon? Will we fight the wither? Why don't we go exploring?... 

We waited eagerly each day to see which videos were posted on YouTube. Hunger games, parkour, let's plays, cops and robbers, who knows, the possibilities were endless. So many memories, so many stories we lived and shared through them. We changed as time passed, and so did them.  Not everyone is still here with us... Some have strayed away from this path... Some have disappeared... but we will remember them all, how they made us feel, and the joy they brought to our days.

I hope this video sparks some of your memories. We all had different experiences, we didn't watch exactly the same stuff after all, but most of us shared something at least, and in that way, we were all connected through this game.

Old days playing Minecraft (Shuniji lofi mix)

I still remember going to the cinema as a kid and watching Kung fu Panda for the first time, laughing so much and enjoying myself. At the time of course I only paid attention to the action and funny moments, like any kid would; but as time passed, I came to appreciate more and more those few moments in which Oogway appears on screen, and it’s funny cause now those are the ones that have stuck with me the most.

I’ve always held the “Today is a gift” quote close to my heart. It’s so simple, but so insightful. You always read “Carpe Diem” and whatnot, but listening to this as a kid really shaped how I see myself in this world. It’s easy to say “live in the moment”, but it’s actually very hard to put into practice. The routine, the mundanity of it all, the issues that we have in our life, they all make it difficult to really enjoy our time here. That’s why I love the phrase “Today is a gift”-

And I believe a lot of people here feel just like this. This movie is one of those shared pieces that have marked a whole generation. A shared experience that we all lived and marked us in similar ways. That’s why I love this movie so much. It’s part of our childhood, it taught us what’s really important, and it pulls us a little bit closer together.

Today is a gift (Oogway Ascends lofi mix)

Oh how this brings back some memories! Korra is one of my cherished childhood series. It was very different from its predecessor, but that’s something that made it unique. It had its flaws, of course, but in many ways I connected so much more to the struggles characters went through in Korra rather than in The Last Airbender. It probably had to do with the fact that I was entering high school, and going through it, as The Legend Of Korra aired, and I think that’s the case for many of us here.

I remember this series back fondly, and I’m glad I could experience it with my friends :D
