I always made tunes as my personal “therapy” sessions, never thought much if other will hear them or no. 4 years ago, on the day after I found out the woman I was planning to spend the rest of my life with have passed away in tragic circumstances,I was in complete shock and incapable to grasp the reality around me, so I turned to my DAW and churned out this track to help my mind get away throughout the sleepless night.
Then I shelved the tune… later I moved to the other side of the world in beautiful Vietnam, felt like I shelved making music forever, focused on DJing and events, seeking the pleasure of sharing music with others through a more social and personal approach.

But a combination of free time due to lockdowns and meeting some inspiring people, musicians and producers alike, reminded me of my longstanding therapy method: making groovy beats. But in order to move on to new soundscapes, I felt I need to share some of the “old me”, and the stormy start of this solitary September reminded me of this little tribute, although deep and dreamy, the overall message is a positive one. We are 1!

September Blues [2017]

After the success of the first, there always had to be a second Buena Onda compilation. Before that arrives later this year comes a second delicious sampler featuring a remix from Calm, some 303 Balearic action from Iceland, Italian house newcomer Relative and a fresh Gallo rework.

Buena Onda is of course the cult Berlin-based party that constantly redefines Balearic music. It is run by Hell Yeah label boss Marco with resident DJ and co-founder Gallo and is a party that is both eclectic and euphoric, whether serving up slow acid or dreamy downtempo.

This sampler opens up with Buena Onda favourite Calm and his epic Mellow Mellow Acid remix of Gallo's 'Abysso,' which is long-legged, fulsome and laced with life-affirming piano chords. Then comes Icelandic artist Tonarunur who used to record as B.G. Baarregaard and has landed on the likes of Eskimo Recordings and Citizens of Vice. He layers deep acid lines into a smooth house groove that is sprinkled with cosmic dust. Italian house newcomer Relative then brings tumbling percussion, smeared chords and plenty of drama Italo vibes to his tune 'The Healing Place' and Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof Remix of Kayroy's 'Imagine' is five minutes of post-rave comedown bliss with gorgeous ambient design and celestial chord work that soothes the soul.

This is another perfect snapshot of the mature musical thrills you get at Buena Onda.

Also arriving from the More Rice camp are minimal master DOTT alongside supreme psychedelic selector, Elaheh. Prolific producer DOTT has been steadily winning fans across continents with his twisted brand of stripped techno and house. Meanwhile, Thai-Iranian DJ Elaheh is masterfully living up to her reputation as one to watch as she emerges from the Asian underground on her very own terms. Their track is a paranoid warehouse bump that pops from the speakers powerfully as subtle textures rise over earth-shaking rhythms.

Already loaded with a heritage that dates back to the early 1990s, Tranquil Elephantizer cues up the last ever Futureboogie single with the cosmically charged ‘Moon City’ EP.  LA’s Warehouse Preservation Society come correct with a remix of the title track.

As stalwarts of the UK & US West-coast scene Tranquil Elephantizer have notched up live & DJ performances across the globe as well as heralded releases for Wicked, Matrix, Definitive, Language and Primal. Now firmly rooted in San Francisco, lead producer DJ Shakra has kept the vibe alive over three decades and still bounces tracks across continents with original members; Alexi Worrall, Crispin J Glover and the Kedros Brothers.  Darius Kedros delivers here on additional production and mixing duties, with relatively new crew member ‘Alcyone’ bringing another level of keyboard & modular synth mastery, elevating proceedings further into the ethereal realms.

Across two mixes of ‘Moon City’, ‘Sugarlump’ and ‘Slow Brew’, transcendental vibes are set, as acid licks and sci-fi kicks are explored amongst the distinctly dubwise beats and heavyweight bass tones.  Ambient house never sounded so relevant as it does now, and the ‘Moon City’ EP drips with this esoteric sound.

Warehouse Preservation Society follow up their Futureboogie released ‘Endlessly’ EP with a stellar remix of ‘Moon City’, as chugging beats, industrious percussion and a toxic brew of kaleidoscopic synths, pianos and 303 bassline bizzness makes for a most heady experience.

In a true celebration of Italian electronic music from across the generations, Bosconi is honoured to present unreleased works from the legendary Alexander Robotnick. A true titan of Florentine music who helped define the Italo disco scene with a glittering run of evergreen club classics, Robotnick is still as creative now in his 70s as he was when first firing off his trademark arpeggios in the early 1980s.
For a few years now Robotnick, real name Maurizio Dami, has mainly released new or previously unreleased music via his own Hot Elephant Music. As such, we’re thrilled to present three original tracks on vinyl, cut hot and ready to set a disco alight. Transcending the trappings of retro-fetishism, vintage this or old-skool that, the tracks on this 12” could be called techno or electro as easily as Italo – it’s quite simply impeccable dance music as delivered by a master craftsman.
Adding to the sense of occasion celebrating the foundations of the Italian scene, we’re equally thrilled to welcome Marco Passarani to remix Robotnick’s ‘The Hidden Game’. His appropriately titled ‘Legacy’ mix operates as an alternate version in the traditional style, holding true to the essence of the original while offering a slightly altered perspective. It’s a distinct mix with Passarani’s own distinctive Italo flair plain to hear – if anything his version sounds more retro than the original – but it’s still very much invested in what Robotnick created to begin with. Given the influence both these artists have had on the musical culture our own label is built on, this release holds a special place in our hearts, and we’re excited to be sharing it with the world, where the throbbing basslines and sparkling pads can work their magic under the disco ball in a thousand dimly lit dance spots.

Alexander Robotnick - Green Past [Bosco048 - Bosconi Records]

For our ninth offering we are delighted to welcome Lisbon based artist Larry Quest to the label. Larry is an astute producer adaptable to varying styles, strong in musicality and a particular flair for soulful, jazzy touches and classy deep house music. For the ‘Mystery Herd’ release we are treated to an EP richly inspired by the natural world and the colors within. Venus Girdle enjoys ethereal pads, a strong but distant kick and swelling percussion. Asian butterfly Alpine Black Swallowtail informs the next track, with its mountainous field-recording, gentle arpeggios and harmony of pads. Haliotis reverb swelling pads represent the waves, the synths and percussion, the spume and the bass groove embodying the sea. Nicobarica is a cool organic track with beautifully played keys, live guitar licks and a breezy rhythm section complete with rolling percussion all combining making for an infectious groove. Completing the EP is a spaced out, ambient take of Venus Girdle by Joe Morris!

Sello's Friday Special w/ Chesney Tropicale 13.05.22

After the first Jam experiment back in 2019 here we have the second chapter of the Bosconi Gang Band session pressed on this limited white label hand stamped & numbered waxx.


This jam was recorded in front of an actual crowd in an event held at Manifattura tabacchi Florence on the 21st February 2020 just a couple weeks before the pandemic started and the first lockdown happened in Italy.


The concept is the same as the previous one with Fabio Della Torre on the mixer conducting the gang mysitc gulf this time with: from left to right  Ennio Colaci from Minimono, Dukwa, Rufus, Andrea Giachetti & Antonio Pecori from “The Clover” and Dj Rou.


As it happened with the previous release,  the actual jam follows the order of the live execution which naturally developed in a crescendo of speed and intensity. 
The result is a collection of 5 of the best takes slightly mixed and revisited afterwards but very much faithful to those performed live.

This is another adventurous release that goes well off grid, plays with strange temps, original textures and moods.
Bosconi Gang Band aims to be an itinerant live improvisational  project open to all artists who have released on Bosconi Records that sets the goal of always being unpredictable and special, naturally affected by the artists who perform always creating something unplanned new, and unexpected.
