this one's for a different project that i might work on more rapidly in the future. depends on some stuff

this is basically "the intro level" bgm. the character has woken up in a laboratory with no memory of how they got there, and with an unfamiliar entity- though kind- now dwelling within them. wanted to have a sense of mystery / wanderlust, but also uncertainty.

Delayed Awakening

more game music. this is a brand new gameplay loop track for a new area of the game. the idea is effectively a factory level of sorts, but it's kinda messed up here and there. the idea is that more of the music will kick in as the player progresses through the stage, with more instruments joining in at certain points.

...but actually, i'm not sure how i feel about it at this point. i like how weird it feels, and i do enjoy the energy, but i need to expand on this somehow or it will get really annoying really fast. each "loop" is only 33 seconds or so long... which could be excused by the BPM, but that's also exactly why i should spin it a little bit more before each loop, lol.

for now, this is just a concept. i'll expand on this later probably, and if i don't, then this might wind up getting replaced by something else later down the line. /shrug

Sange asked me to make something that sounded "retro", and I thought back to my Megaman days. Actually, those are still a thing....
Anyways, I decided to make something with the atmosphere of a more recent Megaman series- Megaman ZX. I also wanted to follow the theme of the album, and "Metropolis" quickly came to mind.
The song turned into.... a cute song about the impending apocalypse.  

Also, tuning VCCV UTAU is hard. I have Cz and Zurui to thank for helping me get it set up and helping me edit it.

This is a song about trigger responses.
As someone who isn't really sure if he experiences trigger reactions, I based it on my own... possibly trigger reactions, I guess.
"I wanna go home" is a phrase my sister and I use to indicate we are going through emotional discomfort, usually moderate-to-severe intensity. I tried to reference this phrase in the chorus.
This is my first rock song. You'll have to forgive the lack of actual guitars. It's kind of more... "Electrock"? "Synthrock"? I dunno.

That's how long I've been working on this song.
I'm starting to boil over, so I'm posting this potentially final, potentially not final version of the song for everyone to listen to.

This song is about a bout of depression where I wasn't getting the help I needed from anyone. It was an awful several months.

At the same time, I felt awful, because I was getting help from someone- my boyfriend- but I wasn't telling him that I was going through any problems. I felt like a leech- a parasite if you will.

I don't remember what threw me into that depression anymore. All I remember is what I felt, what I thought and imagined was happening around me, to me, about me. That's the song in a nutshell.

Woo! I actually finished an entry for a contest for once.

The initial idea behind the song comes from a sentiment I've seen from many players regarding the Lotus: even though she's guided us, she's also hid things from us. Potentially she's hiding other things from the Tenno, and no one really knows too much about her (it's only through circumstance that we come to find out snippets of her past).

This, however, evolved into a question regarding Tenno existence- maybe something answered within game, and maybe some lore slipped from my mind- but the question of the Tenno's past wound up becoming the focus of this song (haha focus, get it? ha wow). We know about some things, but not really how or why they were in the circumstances that caused them to become Tenno.

This song focuses on one potential Tenno (of which there could be many) post Second Dream quest, who is seeking the answers seemingly forgotten.

It's finished! My new Warframe fan-song, "The Dread", a song about and/or referring to Warframe's "Stalker" character and (new players) Tenno defending themselves against the unfamiliar threat.

Compared to Codex, which I thought was sort of high-tempo electronic rock, The Dread definitely feels more like rock than just electronic anime-opening music. I had a lot of fun tuning DEX for this- I think it shows off his powerful capabilities well. (Also featuring, the one breath sample I've recorded for DEX so far. I'm so lazy lmao)

This is my entry for the 2018 rendition of the Miku Expo music contest! A slightly-swingy dance song, about dancing. Creative, right? Regardless, I was in the mood to write something like that.  I think it's pretty catchy too, so I worked really hard to make Miku sing it as clearly as possible. I hope everyone enjoys it!

This is my third Warframe-based song, and it's content matter is quite deep in the game (like, extremely recent story-release wise), so I'm not going to talk about it much for the sake of spoiling it to those unaware, but this is a song written from the Operator's perspective post-Apostasy Prologue. 

With that, once again I've attempted to write a song that addresses the lore at this point without constricting the lyrical meaning to the game's playerbase- as much as it is about Warframe, I've always felt that songs that over-state the game's lore are a bit... patronizing to the listener. That said, I do name-drop the apostasy, so.... 

Compared to Codex, I didn't really use the selected samples "musically", but rather just to add atmosphere. They're EQ'd and quiet compared to the music, but you'll hear them quite prominently when they sound off.

Circus, or ODDEEO, SOMEONE in my close friend circle (Update: It WAS Circus!), was like "what if all the VOCALOID producers got together and wrote a song that's like, their boss fight music? Like if you fought them in a game." And so I did that.

To more eloquently prompt: "You're a boss in a video game. Write the BGM for your fight." You should try it! It's fun.

I went for a primarily electronic + orchestral vibe, taking inspiration from Megaman X and Sonic Adventure 2's Shadow levels. I imagine this would be a turn-based RPG fight with animations somewhat synced to the music, and each turn you control a single character and press buttons to use abilities / attacks. Menu'ing only necessary for spell navigation.
