This trumpet and piano instrumental version was done back in April 2021. I always loved the way Joe Cocker did this song - so loving and gentle. I think we all have or had someone special who we think of in this way. That they are so beautiful to you. Dedicated to my sister.  She always went to the "Rock Dock" with her friends, which was at a local lake, and they would jump off a dock into the lake, and I tried to use reverse psychology to convince her to never dive head first into the lake.

The old song was too quiet based on standard loudness normalization of -14db.  This version has more reggae feel to it.

When someone asks you "What's the difference?", now you know.  It's this thing that came down from the sky and changed stuff after the Nullanon disappeared for a while.

At this point, I started concentrating on generating album covers using artist mannequins.  This is number 4 in my "Nullanon" series.  Imagine a bunch of people used to doing things very unambiguously and then there is something that forces them to start making more granular decisions based on evidence.

I love the organ melody progression in this song at the beginning.  This is number 5 in my "Nullanon" series which is depression stuff, mixed with some funk organ.  The lyrics for this song is mostly about accepting what happened already and moving forward (stoic philosophy).

Ascension tells the story of a protagonist following his career path, overcoming fears and barriers, getting over self doubt and adverse conditions. Or maybe the tale of a space odyssey operated by a huge company and its rise to the most powerful entity of mankind.

This is a hybrid track starting with a solo violin and piano and strings accompaniment. A constant soft string ostinato is opposed to a synth pulse. The middle part starts very ambient with spacious pads but rises in tension with the help of the orchestra.

The climax is introduced with a strong melodic statement played by horns. It's further developed with modulation and varied instrumentation.

The outro is more or less a mirror of the intro.
